Abstract: The reciprocating pump for performing a pumping action by reciprocating an individual reciprocating member inside a plurality of cylinder sections arranged in parallel includes a seal case in which a cylinder section is formed and which functions as an independent pressure-resistant container; and a suction valve and a discharge valve in which a valve chamber is formed individually and each of which functions as an independent pressure-resistant container. The suction valve and the discharge valve are coupled so as to sandwich two planar sections from a direction perpendicular to a direction in which a plurality of cylinder sections are arranged in parallel in a state in which each of the suction valve and the discharge valve abuts against the respective one of the two planar sections of an external surface of a small diameter section at a front end side formed in the seal case, and the valve chamber is communicatively connected to the cylinder section.

  • Patent number: 8186263
Abstract: Apparatus and method for securing a cylinder liner to a pumping module. A first part of an assembly housing pistons is fastened to a pumping module and a second part of the assembly is brought against the first so that the pistons act on tensioning plates which each have a stud rod extending therefrom through the assembly at an end distal to the pumping module. Each rod has a first portion substantially surrounded in an elastomeric member and a second portion threaded to receive a nut. The rods are passed through a clamping ring on the cylinder liner and the nut is attached to the rod. Actuating the pistons causes initial compression of the elastomeric member by the tension plate and allows tightening of the nut toward the pumping module. Release of the pistons then causes expansion of the elastomeric member to urge the cylinder liner towards the pumping module.

Abstract: In a chemical liquid supplying apparatus, discharge accuracy of chemical liquid is enhanced, and durability of a flexible tube is enhanced. By the flexible tube incorporated into a pump housing, an interior of the pump housing is partitioned into a pump chamber, which communicates with a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet, and a drive chamber in which an incompressible, indirect medium is enclosed. Outer surfaces of end portions of the flexible tube are sealed by outer seal members, and their inner surfaces are sealed by inner seal members. Fastening cylindrical bodies disposed in the end portions of the flexible tube are radially expanded by wedge sleeves, whereby the outer and inner seal members are caused to closely contact with the flexible tube.

Abstract: A sealing unit includes a mismatched metal-to-metal seal and an o-ring seal with a vent hole therebetween. The mismatched metal-to-metal seal may provide a sealing surface between two metals that may withstand high temperatures and pressure while avoiding leakage over many cycles. The sealing units of the present invention may provide a seal capable of withstanding pressures greater than about 5,000 psig, and typically greater than 6,000 psig, and more typically greater than 7,000 psig; and temperatures greater than about 300° F., and typically greater than about 400° F., and more typically greater than about 500° F. over a service life of more than 5,000 cycles. By providing a vent hole between the metal-to-metal seal and the o-ring seal, should either seal leak, damage to the other/good seal may be prevented by expelling the leak out of the system.
