Rotating Housing Containing Fixed Sorbent Or Rotating Plurality Of Housings Patents (Class 95/113)
  • Patent number: 5514197
Abstract: An air filter device for an air-conditioning apparatus includes a mounting frame unit, an axle mounted rotatably to the mounting frame unit, and a plurality of blade-like frames mounted axially on and projecting radially from a peripheral surface of the axle. The blade-like frames are spaced angularly apart from one another. A plurality of filtering sheets are held respectively by the blade-like frames. Each of the filtering sheets covers an entire area confined by a respective one of the blade-like frames. The filtering sheet includes active carbon fabric felt which is made by weaving activated carbon fiber filaments.

  • Patent number: 5512083
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the dehumidification and VOC odor remediation of an air stream withdrawn from the passenger compartment of a transportation vehicle is disclosed which employs a continuously rotating wheel support and adsorbent selective for the adsorption of water and VOCs. The wheel is coated with zeolite adsorbent selected from the group consisting of zeolite Y-74, zeolite Y-84, zeolite Y-85, a low cerium rare earth exchanged zeolite Y-84, a rare earth exchanged zeolite LZ-210 and mixtures thereof. A surprisingly significant increase in the thermal efficiency is possible as a result of the lower regeneration temperature of the adsorbent and the use of novel process steps.

  • Patent number: 5487775
Abstract: A continuous pressure driven adsorption process for separating a multi-component gaseous mixture. In accordance with the method, the multi-component gaseous mixture is passed through a first portion of the adsorbent to adsorb one or more preferentially adsorbed components while a second portion of the adsorbent is regenerated. The multi-component mixture is passed through the first portion of the adsorbent in sections and the second portion of the adsorbent is regenerated in sections. The sections forming the first portion of the adsorbent become successively less saturated and the sections forming the second portion of the adsorbent becomes successively more concentrated in the more preferentially adsorbed component. A product stream is expelled from the less saturated section of the first portion of the adsorbent. The product stream is enriched in the less preferentially adsorbed component(s).

  • Patent number: 5443624
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the yield of an air-drying process with the aid of a dehumidifier 2 and a condenser/heat-exchanger 3 involves delivering wet regenerating air exiting the dehumidifier to one side of the condenser/heat-exchanger so as to deliver energy to the process air entering the other side. Condensation deriving from the regenerating air is collected and carried away, and the heated, dried process air 21 is delivered to the dehumidifier in which moisture is extracted from the air and the air further dried. The departing wet regenerating air may, after its delivery process, be led to the room, atmosphere or the flow of process air.
