The casing is self-configurable into a cross-sectionally contracted configuration when lifted by the handle to facilitate insertion in or removal from an air/gas dryer apparatus. Following insertion of the casing in an air/gas dryer, it is manipulated as necessary to reconfigure the casing from the contracted configuration to an operational configuration wherein the casing is not cross-sectionally contracted and wherein the drying composition is compacted. When the casing needs replacement, it can be grasped by the handle and lifted to re-effect the contracted configuration and thereby removed from the dryer.

  • Patent number: 7320723
Abstract: An exhaust gas filter cartridge which is suitable for use in a muffler such as to form an exhaust gas filtering system is disclosed. The filter cartridge preferably includes a first porous longitudinal wall and a second porous longitudinal wall, both porous longitudinal walls having openings which allow for a sufficient gas flow through the filter cartridge. An absorbent material, preferably in pellet form, is housed substantially in-between the first porous longitudinal wall and the second porous longitudinal wall of the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge is preferably disposable. A guard casing may be used in conjunction with the filter cartridge to provide an exhaust gas filtering system. The guard casing preferably has two end closure structures. A gas inlet end structure is preferably associated with one end closure structure and a gas outlet end structure may be associated with the other end closure structure of the guard casing.

  • Patent number: 7014682
Abstract: An apparatus and process for removing regulated pollutants and other contaminants from a flowing gas stream between a scrubber and an exhaust stack. The apparatus comprises a vessel having a heater chamber, an adsorbent chamber and a filter chamber. The vessel inlet receives the gas stream from the scrubber and the vessel outlet discharges clean gas to the exhaust stack. A heater in the heater chamber heats the incoming gas stream to lower the relative humidity. The gas stream then passes through granular adsorbent material located in the adsorbent chamber to remove contaminants remaining after the wet scrubber. From the adsorbent chamber the gas stream flows into the filter chamber where filters remove entrained particulate matter prior to discharge to the exhaust stack. The process of the present invention includes the above-described steps.

  • Patent number: 6951581
Abstract: An air dryer assembly for removing moisture and oil from a compressed air system includes a desiccant material received in a shell for adsorbing moisture as compressed air passes therethrough. A coalescing element is disposed between an inlet and outlet for removing oil aerosols from the compressed air. A check valve is disposed in parallel with the coalescing element and forces the compressed air to pass through the coalescing element as air flows from the inlet to the outlet. During a purge or reverse flow, compressed air bypasses the coalescing element and removes oil collected in the cartridge through the inlet.
