Having Mountable Casing Patents (Class 96/147)
  • Patent number: 5401298
Abstract: A sorption pump for high vacuum applications that is suited for use in gas analyzers such as mass spectrometers. The pump includes a housing containing a quantity of getter material and a diffusion barrier in the gas inlet to the housing. A finite period of time is required for gas molecules in the vacuum analyzer system to cross the barrier, thus providing a window during which gas pulses can be accurately analyzed.

  • Patent number: 5350513
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lightweight and durable flexible-walled adsorber vessel that may be a freestanding unit, may be hung from an overhead support frame or ceiling, may float or be submersed in a body of liquid, or otherwise be suspended during use. The flexible adsorber of the present invention utilizes an internal screen, mesh, pallet or similar means to support carbon or other porous filter media so as to permit the pressurized or unpressurized removal of undesirable vapors, liquids or solids that may be present in streams of gas or liquid. Embodiments of the flexible adsorber are capable of supporting filter media weighing a ton or more, can resist deterioration in the presence of a variety toxic chemicals and/or corrosive agents, and can serve as a shipping container before or after use.

  • Patent number: 5304235
Abstract: A canister includes a casing, a fuel reserve well defined at the bottom of the casing, an adsorbent layer provided in the casing for adsorbing fuel vapor, the adsorbent layer communicating with the fuel reserve well at a region of its lower portion and communicating with an atmosphere at its upper portion, a first communication passage defined so that the fuel reserve well communicates with a fuel system of an engine, and a second communication passage defined so that the fuel reserve well communicates with an intake system o f the engine.

  • Patent number: 5300139
Abstract: An improved, air cleaner is provided to eliminate the detriment caused by air pollution and cigarette smoke. The air cleaner includes a removable build-in ashtray which is mounted in front of the housing of the air cleaner. At smoking, the ashtray would be opened by removing its cover. When the ashtray is full of ash, it would be removed for emptying and cleaning. The air cleaner is provided with a disposable filter pack inserted into an open slot of the cleaner housing. The filter pack contains an active carbon layer and chemical catalyst and perfume therein.

  • Patent number: 5288306
Abstract: A gas containing malodorous/harmful components is treated with an iodine- and/or inorganic iodide-supporting activated carbon honeycomb 6 disposed in a gas passageway 5 extending from a gas inlet 3 to a gas outlet 4. The gas may be treated with this iodine-and/or inorganic iodide-supporting activated honeycomb 6 and an acid-supporting activated carbon honeycomb 7. A fan 8 may be provided in a downstream position within the gas passageway. The operation of the fan may be associated with a sensor for detecting malodorous/harmful components and/or a timer which controls the operating duration of a motor. The above activated carbon honeycomb will eliminate various malodorous/harmful substances, such as ammonia and sulfur-containing compounds, with high efficiency and low flow resistance. The activated carbon honeycomb can be used for the treatment of a variety of gases and is particularly useful for the deodorization of toilets.

  • Patent number: 5286283
Abstract: Air dryer for a compressed air system includes a desiccant canister and a tubular oil filter received within a cavity within the canister circumscribed by a desiccant bed. A tubular oil filter is mounted on a removable module so that the module and the oil filter may be removed from the air dryer without disturbing the desiccant canister. Accordingly, the oil filter is replaced at more frequent intervals than is the desiccant. During purging, purge air is bypassed around the oil filter directly to the exhaust port through a check valve permitting communication through a bypass passage only during purging.

  • Patent number: 5286282
Abstract: An air dryer for compressed air braking systems includes a desiccant canister which is provided with a double helix insert which cooperates with the walls of the canister to define a pair of intertwined, serpentine, pneumatically isolated flow paths. The flow paths extend through the canister between the end walls and are filled with a desiccant material. A single center line valve mechanism is provided to switch between the flow paths so that one of the flow paths is purged at the same time that the other flow path is pressurized.
