  • Patent number: 11161060
Abstract: An inline process for imparting sonic energy plus a liquid gas separator to a continuous flow of a heterogeneous liquid to de-gassify the liquid and thereby provide for separation and extraction of selected liquid and gas components. The device utilizes a flat plate oriented in the direction of flow within the liquid so as to impart pressure fronts into the liquid to initiate liquid gas separation followed by a line pressure regulation, fluid jet stream, device to impart fluidic shear to fluid jet stream, and a separation vessel to facilitate mass transfer.

  • Patent number: 6984257
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for use with a natural gas dehydrator. The apparatus and method of the invention provide for recirculation of gaseous or combustible materials so that they are not released into the atmosphere and to provide fuel for the process. Likewise, liquid hydrocarbons are collected. Various components, including separators, an absorber, wet glycol, dry glycol, an effluent condenser, heat exchangers, and a reboiler are utilized in accordance with the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6416632
Abstract: An apparatus for degassing an aqueous suspension containing pulp fibres, the apparatus comprising an elongated horizontal reservoir and a bypass manifold extending into the reservoir. The bypass manifold is placed inside the reservoir such that it it positioned substantially within the aqueous suspension at the bottom of the reservoir, the manifold thus decreasing the flow cross-sectional area of the aqueous suspension at the inlet end of the bypass manifold (2) in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6214092
Abstract: A separator apparatus for separating flush effluent from an oil and gas well following a fracture stimulation process, the separator having a vessel that maintains the effluent at a selected liquid level, an inlet is connected to the vessel at a location below the liquid level so that the effluent enters the vessel at a location therebelow. A plurality of baffles within the vessel slow the effluent so that solids settle out to a drain which is periodically opened to transfer the solids to an appropriate disposal. An upper outlet permits the venting of gases that percolate from the liquid constituent, a backpressure valve disposed in communication therewith to maintain a positive pressure within the vessel. A liquid drain withdraws the liquid constituent from the vessel at a rate determined by a level assembly.

  • Patent number: 6096120
Abstract: An improved double acting deaeration vessel is most desirably used in the pulp and paper industry. The deaeration vessel removes gas from a fiber suspension without requiring fine adjustment of the final consistency of the suspension fed to the deaeration vessel. In the same gas volume where the fiber suspension is treated in the deaeration vessel a second partition wall forming a second weir is provided, and the vessel jacket is provided with one or more inlets for a second fluid medium to be introduced into the vessel, with an outlet for the substantially gas free second fluid medium. A common outlet is provided in the common gas volume for gas separated from both the fiber suspension in the second fluid medium, as well as an outlet for the fraction of the second fluid medium separated by the weir.

  • Patent number: 5858070
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning hydraulic fluid includes a centrifugal fluid-spinning disk arranged in a housing, of which an upper portion forms a vapor chamber and a lower portion forms a fluid collecting basin. A vacuum pump is connected to the housing through an oil mist separator, such that water vapor is vacuumed away and hydraulic fluid collects in the oil mist separator to then be pumped away. The apparatus further includes preferably a single container that contains both the contaminated hydraulic fluid that is to be cleaned and the cleaned hydraulic fluid. A flexible inlet line and a flexible outlet line with respective hydraulic quick connectors are provided to connect the apparatus and particularly the oil container to a hydraulic system of an aircraft, for example. A high pressure pump connected to the outlet line pumps the cleaned hydraulic fluid into the aircraft hydraulic system and a pressure maintaining valve in the inlet line maintains the system pressure.

  • Patent number: 5858071
Abstract: A water-purifying apparatus, for reducing the radon content of radon-contaminated water, includes a reactor tank for treating the radon-contaminated water, a radon-releasing structure arranged in the upper part of the reactor tank to receive water from a first pump adapted to supply water from a source of water containing radon-contaminated water, the water from the radon-releasing structure accumulating in the reactor tank, an inlet duct extending between the first pump and the radon-releasing structure, an outlet duct from the reactor tank, the outlet duct being connected to a water consumption system, and a radon-gas outlet from the reactor tank. In a mixing structure, water from the first pump is mixed with water from the reactor tank with the aid of a second pump in order to produce such a water flow in the radon-releasing structure as results in effective radon release.
