  • Patent number: 7374604
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for flue gas treatment, wherein the provided system comprises a quench module, a first control module, a filter collecting module, a wet scribing module and a regeneration module. In this system, parts of the particles contained in flue gas are removed in the quench module and the wet scribing module by a first scrubbing solution, and then in wet scribing module a second scrubbing liquid containing particles is formed. Next, the second scrubbing solution is treated in the regeneration module to form a third scrubbing solution, wherein the third scrubbing solution is then fed back to the quench module and/or the wet scrubbing module to substitute the first scrubbing solution for repeating what originally performed via the first scrubbing solution. Furthermore, this invention discloses a method for flue gas treatment.

  • Patent number: 6793814
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for separating solid particles from a fluid. One preferred embodiment includes a tank for settling particles out of the fluid, a conical chamber at the bottom of the tank, an outlet connected to conical chamber, and a conical auger within the conical chamber. The tank may have a tangential inlet that creates a fluid circulation that exerts a centrifugal force on the solid particles to increase the settling of particles out of the fluid. The tank may have a static spiral on the inner wall that helps small particles coalesce into larger particles that settle faster out of the fluid. The fluid content of the solids removed from the tank may be controlled by varying the rotational speed of the conical auger. The rotational speed of the conical auger may be varied depending on the torque required to rotate the conical auger.

Abstract: A wet gas stripper is provided for separating particulate matter entrained in a moving gas stream. The gas stripper includes a housing having a plurality of walls, and a gas inlet for receiving the moving gas stream into the housing and a gas outlet through which the moving gas stream is exhausted from the housing. A particulate collection area is formed at a base of the housing. A liquid spray element sprays a liquid against at least one of the walls of the housing above the particulate collection area to create a particulate-entraining mist. The mist defines a filtration medium for capturing the particulate matter entrained in the gas stream and carrying the particulate matter to the collection area for removal from the housing.
