    Abstract: A liquid spray air purification apparatus utilizing at least two liquid migration eliminator members for providing effective containment of substantially all of the spray liquid employed in the system to within a segregated spray liquid loop so as to prevent spray liquid from interfering with the operation of electrical and other auxiliary components within the apparatus and to minimize spray liquid loss from the recirculation cycle. The segregated spray liquid loop is formed by a liquid spray chamber, a spray liquid sump and recirculation means interconnecting the sump and the liquid spray chamber. Auxiliary components include a particulate filter, fan means, germicidal ultraviolet light means, dehumidification means, heating means and a compressor. The apparatus is designed for use in efficiently improving interior environmental air quality within homes, offices, hospitals and the like, and is adaptable for use in motorized vehicles.

    Abstract: A wet flue gas desulfurization system for removing sulfur dioxide present in flue gas by absorption into an absorbent slurry includes an absorption tower having at a bottom thereof a tank for holding an absorbent slurry; a circulating pump for feeding the absorbent slurry within the tank to a flue gas inlet section in an upper part of the absorption tower and bringing the absorbent slurry into contact with flue gas; and a slurry preparation compartment provided on one side of the tank of the absorption tower and separated from a flue gas passage section by a partition wall having its lower end submerged below a surface of the absorbent slurry, whereby an absorbent and water constituting the absorbent slurry are directly introduced into the slurry preparation compartment.

    Abstract: An absorber fluid return circuit is provided for a volatile liquid vapor recovery system. The vapor recovery system includes at least one adsorbent bed for capturing volatile liquid vapor, a vacuum pump for regenerating the adsorbent bed, an absorber tower for condensing volatile liquid vapor and an absorber fluid source. The absorber fluid return circuit includes an absorber fluid return pump having an inlet and outlet and a first conduit for directing absorber fluid from the absorber tower to the inlet of the return pump. A second conduit directs absorber fluid from the outlet of the return pump to the absorber fluid source. A variable speed motor drives the return pump. The variable speed motor is controlled by a controller operatively connected to a sensor for sensing the level of absorber fluid in the absorber tower, a variable speed AC drive for varying the speed of the drive motor.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for introducing a liquid substance into air flowing into an environment includes a main container for containing a reservoir of the liquid substance, and exhaust fan for withdrawing air from within said container to thereby create a negative air pressure condition therein, an air intake port having an upper open end exterior of the container and a lower open end within the container and in close adjacent relationship to a top surface of the reservoir of liquid, and a resupply container connected to the main container and including a pump to resupply liquid to the main container. Operation of the exhaust fan creates an air flow through the air intake port, causing the stream of air exiting the lower open end to impinge upon and agitate the top surface of the liquid, resulting in evaporation of the liquid into the air in the container.
