  • Patent number: 11700883
Abstract: An apparatus arranged to heat smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material has a housing. The housing has a first opening at a first end through which smokable material can pass so as to be received within and removed from the apparatus in use. The housing has a second opening at a second end opposed from the first end. The housing further has a chamber between the first and second openings. At least one heater is arranged within the housing for heating smokable material removably received within the chamber in use. A user can access the chamber through at least the second opening to clean within the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8414682
Abstract: An inline water trap including a filter component and a panel connector configured to interface with a patient gas monitor. In one embodiment the inline water trap indicates to the patient gas monitor that it is in place and that the patient gas monitor may begin intaking and analyzing the filtered patient sample. The inline water trap receives a patient sample and filters water and contaminants from the sample before allowing the remaining gas portion of the sample to pass through to the patient gas monitor, thereby protecting the patient gas monitor from damage. One embodiment of the inline water trap additionally contains an RFID tag to indicate to the patient gas monitor that the correct type of inline water trap is engaged.

Abstract: A device for phase separation of a multiphase mixture with at least one gas and at least two fluid phases may include a vessel including a tangential inlet via which the multiphase mixture is conveyed to the vessel, a tangential gas outlet above the inlet, via which a gas phase of the multiphase mixture separated from the multiphase mixture can be taken out of the vessel, and at least two outlets below the inlet at different vertical heights, via which one of the at least two fluid phases of the multiphase mixture respectively separated from the multiphase mixture can be taken out of the vessel. Further, a method for phase separation of a multiphase mixture using such device may include imparting an upwards-directed eddy flow to the multiphase mixture, during which fluid droplets are separated from the multiphase gas mixture, collecting the fluid droplets, and separately removing all phases formed.

  • Patent number: 8246728
Abstract: A compressed air-supply device for a utility vehicle includes a valve housing and an exchangeable air-drying cartridge. The air-drying cartridge has a filter device which cleans the air flowing from the valve housing into the air-drying cartridge. The filter device separates the pre-filter area facing the valve housing from the post-filter area that faces the air-drying cartridge and in which foreign particles captured by the filter device are collected. A non-return valve is provided parallel to the filter device, which prevents air flowing from the pre-filter area to the post-filter area but allows the air flow from the post-filter area to the pre-filter area. The non-return valve is arranged in the valve housing.

  • Publication number: 20110056383
Abstract: A filter (50) that can be located on vehicles in the region of the relative wind has an inlet-side perforated sheet with slanted guide surfaces (5, 7), a preliminary filter (9), a coarse dust filter (23), a first fine dust filter (27) with a free space (25) between the coarse dust filter (23) and the fine dust filter (27), a second fine dust filter (31) with a free space (29) between the fine dust filters (27, 31) and, on the air exit side, another perforated sheet (33) with slanted guide surfaces (35). With this filter, when vehicles, especially motor vehicles, are traveling on roads, there is effective filtering of dust, especially also fine dust, from the air that is flowing through the filter (50) under the action of the relative wind.

  • Publication number: 20100275779
Abstract: A split type potable water extractor from ambient air and water dispenser is invented, comprising separate water generating block located outside a water use area and water dispensing block located inside a water use area. The water generator block cycles refrigerant through a condenser and an evaporator to create condensation by heat exchange with ambient air circulated by an intake airflow system. The condensate water is collected and purified in a cascade of bactericidal loop to remove impurities. The purified water is pumped to a dispensing apparatus which can be installed in the home or other area of water use separate from the water generating block. If any one of the functional parts or units of water generator is disabled the water generator immediately stops operating to deliver water to the tank of the dispensing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7803218
Abstract: An on-board oxygen generating system is provided, which includes an air supply duct, a breathing gas duct, and an oxygen generator fluidly coupled between the air supply duct and the breathing gas duct. The oxygen generator is configured to enrich the oxygen content of air flowing from the air supply duct to the breathing gas duct. A drain valve assembly is fluidly coupled to the air supply duct and configured to move between: (i) an open position wherein condensation may drain from the air supply duct, and (ii) a closed position.

  • Patent number: 7419531
Abstract: A safety system for prevention of the escape of noxious media, such as explosive gas mixtures and/or ignitable substances, has at least one interception element (10; 30) which at least partly encloses and seals off a potential escape point (12) for the medium. The medium is precipitated onto the interception element (10; 30). Once the medium has been collected, it may be removed from the interception element (10; 30). In this way, both aggressive media and fuel-laden gases may be effectively controlled by safety engineering measures.

  • Patent number: 7008464
Abstract: A system for removing moisture from a wet gas stream including a vessel having a contact area containing deliquescing salts that produces brine as water is absorbed, the brine flowing to a collection area in the bottom of the vessel. A venturi positioned in a wet gas inlet stream produces an area of reduced pressure that is applied to a brine flow path connected to the brine collection area. In this way, the brine is recirculated into intimate contact with the wet gas inlet stream causing the brine to be diluted with water extracted from the wet gas stream.
