The locking ring is connected to the pressing rod, which also includes a filter system above the locking ring. The pressing rod fits through an opening in the carafe lid, and the carafe lid secures the liquid inside the carafe. The combination of the filtering system assists in the filtering and capture of any coffee grounds into the locking base for cleaning, and the locking ring assists in the removal of the locking base.

Abstract: A reusable cartridge and method for forming a beverage using a beverage machine. The cartridge may include multiple openings, e.g., arranged to receive an inlet needle, through which liquid may be introduced into the cartridge. Preferably the filter is positionable within the first container such that it divides the filter interior volume from the remainder of the first container interior volume. Preferably, cold brew infusion occurs when water in the first container interior volume passes through the water-permeable barrier and soaks coffee grounds within the filter interior volume to form a soluble coffee extract. An alternative cold brew coffee apparatus includes only a single brew chamber and a filter.

The strainers are disposed such that they disrupt the formation of bubbles that leads to boilover while minimizing the loss of volume within the pot. The system of strainers may look like an inverted dome coupled with a dome, allowing foods and liquids to expand within the pot without allowing bubbles to pile up and boilover. The system of strainers may be a single piece permanently coupled or may be one or more strainers removably coupled by a user. At least one of the strainers may include at least one grip. The system of strainers may include means by which they can be specifically positioned within the pot. The system may include at least one lid.

Abstract: A beverage brewing device and method of operation is disclosed. An example beverage brewing device includes a perforated chamber configured to be mounted to a vessel in a brew mode and a self-contained saucer mode. The example beverage brewing device also includes a substantially flat lid attaching to the perforated chamber. The substantially flat lid has a saucer groove to enable turning the device from the brew mode to the self-contained saucer mode as a single unit without need for a separate, removable saucer to catch drainage after the perforated chamber is removed from a beverage in the vessel.

Abstract: A method for brewing and chilling a brewed beverage such as tea includes brewing the beverage; combining the brewed beverage with a chilling medium; and covering the combined brewed beverage and chilling medium with an air-tight lid assembly to form an airtight seal. The combined brewed beverage and chilling medium may then be agitated. The airtight seal traps vapor generated from the beverage during the chilling, thereby causing the vapor to re-enter the beverage to maintain optimum flavor.

The top hollow section is for suction and at least one of the hollow sections is adapted to receive liquid flavor and it has a smaller cross sectional area and shorter length which enables the flavoring liquid to be introduced into the beverage stream in minute quantity. The other hollow section is adapted to receive beverage. The container is mounted or loaded on the elongated tubular body so that the section adapted to receive liquid flavor is immersed in the liquid flavor while the other hollow section is dipped in a beverage. As oral suction is being applied, both the liquid flavor and the beverage are drawn up the tubular body and mixes at the hollow suction end before ingestion.

The first closure element is attached in closure of a first base extremity of the casing to which the sachet directs the inner side, a second closure element of a second base extremity of the casing to which the sachet directs the outer side. The capsule also includes dissociable member between the second closure element and the second base extremity of the casing, and gripping member for the second closure element for its dissociation from the second base extremity of the casing before the positioning of the capsule in an infusion apparatus.

The brew chamber houses a free-standing self-contained filter containing coffee grounds inside a water-permeable barrier. Water is poured into the brew chamber to generate coffee extract through cold water infusion. After the brewing process, the apparatus is inverted, and the coffee travels into the extract chamber through the middle unit for dispensing. Coffee brewed in this manner is less acidic and more flavorful than the conventionally hot-brewed beverage. All the components of the apparatus, the filter, the brew chamber, the extract chamber, and the middle unit, are detachable.

Abstract: A system and process for steeping tea in a vessel is disclosed. The present invention incorporates the use of an infusing filter seated on or within a vessel and a lid or retaining mechanism to steep tea in water. The vessel has an retaining ledge that supports a mating infuser placed inside. The infuser seats in a stationery position on the mating ledge inside the vessel, offset from the center of the vessel, to allow for stirring, pouring or drinking of the resulting beverage without introducing the infusible material into the resulting steeped beverage product. The infuser comprises a filter element that holds the infusible material and allows contact with the water. The infusing filter is retained in its seated position in the cup, ether by a lid or positive locking mechanism that allows for the safe and convenient portage of the tea steeping assembly.

To prevent overflowing due to frothing, heat transferred to the reservoir is reduced in the beginning of boiling and boiling occurs under reduced heat. The consumer places the invention in a microwave oven to heat the self-contained water to the proper brewing temperature. When ready, lid attached to the strainer is removed and tea is poured. This is more hygienic, ensures better taste since the tealeaves do not become stewed and prevent the strainer scalding or burning people.

Abstract: A filter holder for a coffee machine is used for receiving a pod with an infusible product and includes a cup (2) having a bottom (3) provided with a discharge orifice (19) and an annular wall (4) extending to a top circumference (5) defining an opening which is mountable on a hot water outlet, and a pod support (10) which extends between the annular wall (4) of the cup at a distance from the bottom (3) and is provided with perforations (7, 8). At least one perforation (7) which is embodied in the form of an elongated slot extends on the plane of the support (10) and has a thickness which enables the infusion to freely flow. The filter holder (1) is particularly suitable for a coffee machine producing a low-pressure hot water.

Abstract: A method for brewing tea comprises filling a first tank with water, transferring a volume of the water from the first tank to a second tank, and heating the volume of the water in the second tank. The method further comprises placing a plurality of tea leaves in a receptacle, wherein the receptacle is in fluid communication with the second tank. Portions of the volume of water in the second tank are circulated through the receptacle, such that the portions flow over the tea leaves and return to the second tank, resulting in a brewed tea.

Abstract: A filter setting and sealing apparatus includes a wobble plate mounted to press a filter edge into a plane defined by the top rim of a brew cup. A sealer defined by expandable sealer jaws is moveable into the filter. The jaws are actuated for radial outward expansion to seal the filter to the cup proximate the filter rim and cup edge. A second sealer is used to seal any gaps remaining in the seal after initial sealing. Methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A reusable beverage filter such as used in brewing coffee, the filter having an upper portion and a lower portion, a sieve portion between the upper and lower portions, the upper portion having a flexible portion with a plurality of undulations formed therein such that the filter may fit different size brewing baskets.
