Infusing Receptacles Patents (Class 99/323)
  • Patent number: 4181071
Abstract: This disclosure describes a teapot and a cover therefor. The cover is hollow and radiused at the top tapering to a slightly larger radius at the bottom. The hollow cover is sufficiently large and operates as a food warmer when the perforated disc is placed across the opening of the tea making chamber. The perforated disc allows the penetration of steam into the hollow cover of the teapot creating a food warmer, thus conserving energy by making use of otherwise unused steam. The teapot having a removable circular band, with attached teabag holders, which fits within the interior of the tea making chamber is of a size slightly less than the interior diameter of the tea making chamber and allows for use of the standard teabag without the string and label being attached, thus eliminating the teabag string from falling into the infusing substance during the infusing process and further eliminating the dangers of the teabag label coming in direct contact with the heating source.

  • Patent number: 4141997
Abstract: A double compartment bag constructed of flexible porous material for containing a beverage infusion commodity is provided. The bag includes a pair of independent infusion commodity compartments with the compartments defined in opposited halves of a rectangular bag. A central median portion of the bag separates the compartments from each other and defines a line along which the bag may be folded in half. An inverted U-shaped resilient clip is also provided including short and long legs, and the short leg of the clip includes structure defining a finger engageable tab. The clip is engaged with the bag having its long leg extending along the aforementioned median portion of the bag on the side thereof defining the included angle of the bag when it is folded and the short leg of the clip is engaged over the outer surface of a cup into which the bag is placed.

  • Patent number: 4126555
Abstract: A tea strainer for use in straining tea while it is poured into a teacup, which may be sitting in a saucer. A bowl-like sieve member, provided with projections for engaging the lip of the cup, also has a handle which is made in two parts connected together by a hinge. The hinge is so located that the outer portion of the handle can swing downwardly into contact with the table on which the cup rests. The inner handle portion is sufficiently long so that it lies normally beyond the diameter of the saucer when the cup is sitting in the saucer. The hinge is stiff enough so that it ordinarily must be manually and purposely moved from one position to another. When held in the hand, the tea strainer functions as a normal tea strainer with a stiff handle, but when placed in the cup and the handle moved about the hinge and put in contact with the table, it becomes self-supporting.

  • Patent number: 4080299
Abstract: A coffee filter for coffee pots comprising a container, and a filtering element is disclosed. The container comprises a bottom surface having a plurality of openings and a lateral surface extending from the bottom surface around the periphery of the bottom surface. A plurality of axial ribs are connected to the inside of the lateral surface. The axial ribs are spaced equidistantly about the inside of the lateral surface. Each of these ribs has an inclined edge surface such that the surface defined by the inclined edges of the axial ribs is in the shape of an inverted truncated cone. The bottom edges of the axial ribs terminate in a supporting ramp which is a radial projection extending from the inclined edge of each axial rib. The filtering element is supported, and rests upon, the supporting ramp.
