Abstract: The specification discloses a system for frying food items including a fry basket and an insert which functions to maintain the food items in the fry basket in a separated condition. The insert is dimensioned to fit at least partially within the fry basket and is removably disposed therein. The insert includes two longitudinal support members, a plurality of elongate transverse support members extending between the longitudinal support members and a plurality of separators extending from the transverse support members. The insert may be used in at least two positions, a downwardly facing position or an upwardly facing position and it may be used with or without clips to secure it to the basket.
Abstract: A steam cooking utensil is disclosed which includes a base; a boiling water reservoir and a condensate trough defined by the base; and a heater disposed centrally to the boiling water reservoir, mounted in the base, and coupled to a thermostat also mounted in the base. The condensate trough is disposed in annular relationship to the boiling water reservoir. A food tray defining a imperforate central surface and an array of peripheral aperatures is supported such that the imperforate surface is vertically aligned with the boiling water reservoir and the array of peripheral apertures is vertically aligned with the condensate trough. A cover having a bottom opening defined by a rim is positioned over the food tray, condensate trough and boiling water reservoir, such that the rim cooperates with an outer peripheral lip of the condensate trough to form a seal. The disclosed steam cooking utensil operates to cook food quickly, cleanly and efficiently.

Abstract: A steam cooker and method whereby food loaded into an essentially imperforate cooking pot enclosed within a top access steam chamber is cooked by steam generated in the chamber and transferred through the pot walls into the food, as well as by steam directed from the chamber into cooking relation on top of the food in the pot. Between a top closure cover over the steam chamber and structure for directing the steam into the top of the cooking pot, a shallow subchamber provides for returning spent steam and condensate to the steam chamber.
Abstract: Apparatus and method enabling the heating or reconstituting of frozen foods packaged in a metal container using a microwave oven. The metal container is placed in a non-metallic holder having a cavity just slightly larger than the outside dimensions of the container. The spacing between the outside of the container and the inside surface of the holder is a uniform small distance. The resultant space is filled with a liquid which absorbs microwave energy, converting it to thermal energy which is then transmitted through the container to the food to be reconstituted.
Abstract: A steamer pot assembly includes a pot, a steamer basket and a lid. The pot has a lip bounded by an upstanding flange at its upper end. The steamer basket is perforated and fits within the pot; it has a lip which rests on the pot lip. The steamer basket has two bails, each having two ends pivotally connected to the basket, each end being spaced from the adjacent end of the other bail a short distance. Each bail has two arcuate legs, connected by an inverted U-shaped connector portion which rests on the basket lip, inwardly of the outer edge thereof, leaving a space between it and the flange of the pot to receive the lower edge of the lid.
Abstract: A flat welded wire assembly has a regular shaped multiple member welded frame, and a pair of diverging securing members extending across the frame and terminating in a U-bend wire handle. Each one of the terminus of the pair of diverging members terminates in a securing hook, slidably engaging a cooking pan top rim. A slidable hook member is secured on the U-bend handle, slidably adjusting on the hook securing under the same pan top rim, providing a three-point pan rim engagement for the regular shape member welded frame at a selected depth inside the pan. The cooking pan is filled with water, and a hermetically sealed food pouch is disposed under the regular shape member frame and can be cooked over a heat source.
Abstract: A set comprising a pan having a flat bottom and an oblique rim divergently extended from the bottom, and a cookstove having a broad brim, wherein when the pan is placed on the cookstove, a clearance of several millimeters is formed between an outside surface of the oblique rim and an inside end of the broad brim, and a combustion gas flows up through this clearance forming an air curtain thereby protecting the people surrounding this set from the direct smell, and maintaining cooked food temporarily placed on the broad brim at a certain temperature.
Abstract: The invention relates to a utensil for cooking foods, more particularly meat in the oven in a humid atmosphere and preventing fat being splashed onto the oven walls. This can involve cooking joints of meat remaining stationary on a supporting grill or cooking pieces of meat by infra-red radiation. The cooking utensil comprises a box having a base serving as a water container and a collector for cooking fat and gravy, provided with a lid having at least a hole, whereby the box and lid are associated with a frame for assembling them and clamping them together and for supporting a support for the joints to be cooked.
