Abstract: An electric oven with a baking frame for placing an object to be broiled or baked on it, includes a base, a net, a support frame vertically fitted in one side of the base and having several grooves respectively in two vertical sides, a position frame, a piercing member and a motor. The base has a large recess with four circumferential edges provided with an insert hole in two opposite edges. The position frame vertically fixed in the other side of the base has several pairs of hang holes in an upper portion and a slot formed under each pair of the hang holes corresponds to the grooves of the support frame. After the pointed end of the piercing memer piercing an object is inserted in a shaft hole of the motor, the piercing member is slowly rotated so as to have the object broiled evenly on the oven.

Abstract: An insert for an oven, such as a microwave oven, includes an adapting mechanism compatible with a drive mechanism of the oven, a food treatment element, and at least one drive shaft coupled between the food treatment element and the adapting mechanism. The insert converts rotational forces conventionally used for driving a turntable into forces for driving a food treatment element, such as a rotisserie element.

Abstract: A rotisserie assembly is disclosed that comprises brackets for holding a rotisserie unit. The brackets are universally adaptable so that they can be used to support a rotisserie unit on a variety of grill styles and models. The rotisserie assembly further includes a handle for a rotisserie rod and forks that attach to a rotisserie rod and support food thereupon.

Abstract: An improved cooking tray for microwave oven has a tray body and a plurality of supporting racks, separating racks, and skewers for supporting foods such as meat or bread for toasting and cooking in a microwave oven. By way of the transverse and longitudinal inserting seats disposed on the base of the tray body, the supporting and separating racks can be assembled to the tray body to hold the food to be toasted or cooked on the cooking tray. When meat is to be toasted, the meat slices can be put in the guiding slots formed by the separating plates aligning with and parallel to each other and extending upwardly on the base of the separating rack. And a skewer supporting the meat slices can be suspended upon a pair of the skewer openings at the top of the supporting racks in accordance with the size of the meat slices. Furthermore, the cooking tray can be provided with different top and bottom sides for use with certain foods to be cooked or warmed in the microwave oven.

Abstract: There is provided an adjustable rotisserie having a fire bowl containing a heat source. An elongated rotatable shaft including a pair of prongs attached thereto for holding the food to be cooked is located above the fire bowl. A frame assembly which may be continuously raised and lowered contacts the shaft. The frame assembly, and thus the food, is raised and lowered by a jack which contacts the frame assembly. A motor is attached to the frame assembly for rotating the shaft so that the shaft may be continuously raised and lowered with respect to the fire bowl while the shaft is continuously rotated.

Abstract: A universal rotisserie mounting bracket assembly is disclosed, the assembly mounting the motor on a side shelf of a barbecue grill cart for distancing the motor from the intense heat of the grill and prolonging its life. The bracket assembly is designed for vertical adjustability of the motor, ensuring compatibility with a plurality of differently configured grill castings and facilitating vertical adjustment of the rod for adjusting cooking times.

Abstract: A lower housing defines an elongated heat chamber with side-mounted longitudinally extended linear gas burners which heat the space in the chamber and also edibles mounted on a longitudinal spit which rotates at about the top of the housing. Removable covers enclose the heat chamber, and are removed to permit the spit to be released from its drive mechanism and elevated into a carving mode, with a carving tray underneath, so that meat can be carved on the spit and its accessories, and also on the tray immediately below the spit, keeping all the food warm while it is being carved. The rotisserie includes accessories for mounting fish, poultry and chunk meat, and also has a grill accessory, with the longitudinal dimensioning of all the parts and accessories being such that carving can be done beneath the spit in its carving mode at one portion of the rotisserie, while meat skewered on the other portions of the rotisserie are maintained hot from the heat emanating up from the heat chamber.

Abstract: An improved rotisserie grill is provided and consists of an elongated rectangular framework having four vertical legs, one in each corner and two side cross members, each extending horizontally between two legs. A rotatable spit is supported longitudinally above the framework. An electric motor is supported on the framework to rotate the spit. A semi-cylindrical fire bowl having a curved inner surface is affixed to the framework with the side cross members supporting the bottom ends of the fire bowl. A grate is carried in the fire bowl to hold fuel thereon so that when the fuel is burned the curved inner surface of the fire bowl will reflect heat towards the rotating spit.

Abstract: A barbecue construction using a pair of dual-type truck wheels, one of the pair forming a lower base member and the other of the pair forming an upper firebox member. The lower wheel is disposed on an underlying ground surface with its wheel hub member facing upwardly, and the upper wheel is disposed, in inverted condition, on the lower wheel so that the upper level is supported by its hub member on the hub member of the lower wheel. The aligned axle bores of each wheel are closed to the passage of air therethrough by a plate arrangement that provides a central axis of rotation of the aligned wheels so that rotation of the upper wheel relative to the lower wheel moves the lug bores associated with the upper wheel into and out of alignment with the lug bores associated with the lower wheel and thereby selectively control the upward passage of air therethrough.

Abstract: A tripod stand structured for supporting food holding equipment over a fire pan containing a fire, or an open campfire. The tripod has three support legs, each formed of a plurality of separable sections which snap together. The upper portion of each leg is hingedly affixed to a central collar. The central collar further defines a central bore structured for retaining a vertically oriented center rigid shaft. The lower end of the center rigid shaft is structured for releasably supporting one of several food holding accessories such as a grill, a battery powered rotisserie or a shish kebob apparatus over the fire. The central collar allows the center rigid shaft to be removed or variably adjusted in height over a wide range. Temporary stationary affixment of the center rigid shaft within the central collar is made with the use of a threadably engaged L-shaped handle, one end of which extends through a threaded bore in the sidewall of the central collar.

Abstract: A rotisserie assembly for barbecue grills is disclosed in which the motor support bracket can be arranged to support the motor in a plurality of vertically adjusted positions and the rod support bracket includes a plurality of slots for receiving the rotisserie rod. The motor bracket includes an adapter plate that can be inverted for providing two adjusted positions and which can be omitted for providing a third position.

Abstract: A portable cooking apparatus has a pair of longitudinally elongated stanchions, a spit rod support and a motor support bracket for supporting a drive motor with its power output shaft aligned with the spit rod. A mounting bracket connects the first spit rod support member and the motor support bracket and provides freedom of movement of the motor support bracket with respect to the spit rod support member about pitch and yaw axes which serve to permit the motor support bracket to move with respect to its associated stantion to be aligned with the power output shaft of the motor and the spit rod in use.

Abstract: A barbecue grill with a housing member that defines a rectangular compartment where a food supporting assembly and a heat source assembly are housed in a variable spaced apart relationship. The food supporting assembly includes typically a shaft through which food items are inserted and grills where they are broiled. The shaft is driven through an electric motor. The heat source assembly is suspended from a pair of steel wire elements that are wound on a bar and directed through pulleys in order to uniformly lift or power the heat source assembly through a reversible electric motor. Normally closed switches are connected in series with the power connections for each direction of rotation of the reversible motor and physically located where they are actuated by the heat source assembly to interrupt it, travel.

Abstract: A barbecue apparatus having a vertical central post removably attached to a laterally extending base and having a plurality of vertically and radially offset transverse openings into which the ends of skewers laden with food may be inserted to position the skewers at the desired height. An auxiliary grill, fire pan, steam pan and smoker dome are provided, all of which are adjustably supported on the central post.

Abstract: A portable rotisserie assembly for use in a microwave oven. The assembly comprises a base adapted to rest on a turntable or directly on the floor of the oven cavity, a rotor mounted on the base for rotation about a horizontal axis, and a drive motor mounted on the base.

Abstract: A mixer, primarily for thawing frozen biological materials, is adapted to use the turntable mechanism of a microwave oven (33), a container (4, 30) being carried round by the turntable mechanism (34) and being simultaneously rotated about a transverse axis. In one version the container is a cylindrical drum (4) carried by a cradle (3) which replaces the turntable. A transmission (5) such as friction wheels (13, 14) or gears (17, 18; 20) between the drum and fixed structure (17; 19; 22) within the oven causes the drum to rotate about its axis as the cradle is turned. Alternatively, the container (30) is spherical and the turntable (34) tilts so that the container is biassed to one wall (35) of the oven. But rotation of the turntable causes it to co-operate with other walls (37, 38) and thereby generates a tumbling action.

Abstract: A portable grill comprising a base frame constructed from angle iron or other suitable material having two pair of folding legs running from the front to the back on opposite sides of the base, having two grill support frames each with a sliding guide extending upward at the longitudinal center axis of a base frame, a removable coal tray resting inside the base, a grill rack substantially equal to but less than the width and length of the tray, where the grill rack has a plurality of V-shaped laterally running top bars pitched at an angle to allow grease to drain into a grease catcher located at the lower end of the grill rack, and a means for raising and lowering the grill rack.

Abstract: A wiener roaster having a shank including a first section threadably attached to a second section. A plurality of tines is integrally bound to the first section. A bearing collar rotatably slidably attaches to the first section. A first handle is bound to an end of the second section for gripping the wiener roaster. A second handle is slidably rotatably positioned about the second section in an area between the threadably securing point of the first section to the second section and the first handle. A stand is provided to be implanted in a ground. The stand has a structure defining a bifurcated bearing face wherein the bearing collar removably rotatably lodges as the tines impale wieners and is rotatably situated over a fire, or the like. A method for roasting wieners includes impaling at least one wiener on a tine pivotably secured at the end of a first shaft of a fold-up wiener roaster having a second shaft pivotably secured to the first shaft.

Abstract: A barbecue grill comprising a fire bowl, legs for supporting the fire bowl, a cooking grill above the fire bowl rotatable about a generally vertical axis, and a rod which is selectively mountable in a generally horizontal position above the cooking grill for use as a spit and in a generally vertical position for use in rotating the cooking grill. A single motor is used to turn the rod, the motor being selectively mountable in two different locations on the barbecue grill depending on whether the rod is being used as a spit or to rotate the cooking grill.

Abstract: An outdoor cooking grill having a bottom grate supported in an iron framework with a food grill of parallel heat conductive bars capable of being raised and lowered relative to the grate. The apparatus includes a curved heat reflective back plate providing insulative characteristics to protect the back closure. Rotisserie supports are provided on a horizontal lift support frame which can serve selectively as a grill support and a rotisserie support. Specific lock devices are provided for rotisserie rods to position the rods in any of a plurality of positions. A composite lift bracket serves also as a rotisserie support.

Abstract: A meat roaster with skeleton support which is free standing, capable of quick assembly and is adapted to be fully enclosed by sheet or foil-type metal for cooking large food items. The skeleton support comprises lower, intermediate and upper frame means. The intermediate frame means includes means for rotationally supporting a wide variety of spit basket styles and means for adjusting the height of the spit basket. The upper frame means includes opposing hoop-like members interconnected by a longitudinal support which cooperate to form a dome-shaped ceiling when enclosed. A firebox chamber is formed below the dome-shaped ceiling by enclosing the intermediate frame means. The upper frame means is manually disengageable from the intermediate frame means allowing access to the food during roasting. The lower frame means is capable of supporting charcoal baskets in the firebox chamber below and to the sides of a supported spit basket. The frame means are capable of full disassembly.

Abstract: A spit is vertically adjustably supported at one end by horizontal coaxial tubular members and a vertically adjustable standard on a fireplace hearth. The other end of the spit is removably inserted into apertures formed in a post secured to the back wall of a fireplace for horizontally supporting the spit. A crank handle, having a set screw equipped hub, surrounds the end of the tubular members opposite the fireplace back wall permitting manual or rotisserie motor drive for the spit.

Abstract: A wire cooking rack has a horizontal rectangular supporting frame, with main panels hinged to opposing ends thereof. A locking support bracket is welded to each of the opposite ends of the rectangular frame. These brackets lock and hold the hinged panels, preferably in a slightly over center position, so that the weight of anything mounted on or supported by the rack tends to push the hinged panels toward a more firmly secured position, against the support brackets. A number of skewer positions are formed, at different heights, on the main panels, and on secondary panels secured thereto, in order to provide many different optional skewer support positions and to contribute to a firm support of many different kinds, sizes, and shapes of foods.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for suspending one or more long-shafted forks in a vertical position for storage and in a horizontal operative position whereby the forks may be used to hold food over an open heat source. The apparatus comprises a base having dimensions sufficient to provide vertical stability, a stand post mounted vertically to the base, an upper bracket adapted to hold the forks vertically at the handles, and a lower bracket having a cradle and hook retaining means for retaining the forks horizontally in the second operative position. The lower bracket is also vertically movable along the stand post, and the hook and cradle retaining means are pivotable about a cross bracket portion of the lower bracket whereby the forks may be adjusted horizontally over the heat source.

Abstract: An improved grill device having, in one preferred form, two coal boxes, each coal box being swingable on a horizontal axis between a generally horizontal position and a generally vertical position, the axes being parallel one to another. Novel box support structure is provided for easily locating either coal box in each of the horizontal and vertical positions as selected by the user. In the preferred form, the improved grill device includes a base plate and opposed side plates, the side plates being swingable relative to the base plate between an erect use position and an overlying storage position. A coal box swingable on a horizontal axis relative to the base plate is connected between the side plates when the side plates are erected. Novel box support structure cooperates with novel side plate support structure to maintain the side plates and coal box in the assembled and erect use position.

Abstract: The rotisserie and brazier comprises a cabinet being closed on its side walls and top and having a pair of doors hingedly mounted on its fowardmost terminal side, a firebox being a trough-like member being coextensive in width and mounted at the lower rearward portion of the cabinet, a grease trough being mounted parallelly adjacent the firebox in the lower forward portion of the cabinet, and a suitably driven rotisserie shaft being journally mounted in the cabinet wherein one of the journals is detachably secured and the opposing journal is hingedly secured to the rotisserie shaft to permit the rotisserie shaft to be pivoted out of the cabinet. The rotisserie and brazier may be further provided with an improved holding basket for retaining meat on the rotisserie spit, and various devices for adjusting the firebox with respect to the meat. The rotisserie and brazier may also be provided with a transporting carriage assembly to permit towing by a motor vehicle.

Abstract: An outdoor cooking grill for charcoal cooking and the like, including a generally rectangular fire box having a bottom wall normally disposed in a horizontal position and sidewalls provided with front and rear vertically extending slots for receiving front and rear leg portions of handles extending from opposite ends of a grating member to permit vertical adjustment of the position of the grating member. The front and rear slots have vertically spaced notches for receiving the handle legs and supporting the grating at different vertical positions, and the front slots open through the top edge of the end walls while the rear slots are closed at the top edge so that the grating may be swung about the rear handle legs to an inclined tilted position relative to the bottom wall of the fire box. The firebox is supported by a swivel coupling on a vertical pedestal which permits tilting movement of the firebox about a horizontal axis to a forwardly and downwardly inclined tilted position.

Abstract: A portable grill device of the type including a first bowl and a second bowl hingedly connected together. The bowls are movable between a closure position where the bowls overlie one another, a generally right angular use position where the second bowl is disposed substantially normal to the first bowl, and a generally horizontal use position where the first bowl and second bowl are fully opened. Novel leg bail structure is provided that offers three-legged support to both bowls when the bowls are in the horizontal use position, and that offers a support base substantially wider than the width of the first bowl when the second bowl is in the generally right angular use position relative to the first bowl. Further, the portable grill device includes novel latch structure which retains the two bowls in the generally right angular position, that latch structure cooperating with spit holder arms for restraining those spit holder arms in an elevated position over the first bowl.

Abstract: A combination hibachi-type grill and rotisserie comprises at least one fuel tray mounted on a base. Securing means demountably secures a pair of brackets to opposite sides of the tray in vertical arrangement. Mounting means on the brackets rotatably receives a spit longitudinally of the tray. Drive means coupled to the spit drives the same at a predetermined rotational speed.

Abstract: Stanchions are supported vertically aligned and each carries a vertically adjustable clamp which carries two rollers which support the weight of a rotisserie spit. One clamp has a bracket which supports a clockwork motor. The motor is connected to the spit by a universal joint to compensate for non-parallel alignment of stanchions or non-level clamps. The motor has a rotatable first spool having a winding key, a pawl to permit winding, a shaft connected to the universal joint, and the first gear of a train. A second spool is rotatably mounted in the motor. A constant torque Negator spring is fixed to the first spool and is unwound therefrom onto the second spool. At the end of the train is a pinion having triangular teeth. A reciprocable escapement plate is driven by the end pinion to control the first spool shaft for constant speed, constant torque rotation of the spit.

Abstract: A grill device is disclosed comprising a firebox including sides and a grid extending between the sides. Two side walls extend above the firebox and support a rotatable spit. A grease-drip pan extends upwardly from the back of the firebox between the side walls. Legs are fastened to opposite sides of the firebox. A warming chamber is positioned beneath the firebox and is adapted to receive one or more flat plates having raised peripheral walls and a handle. Auxiliary warming chambers are provided on the rear surface of the grease-drip pan. The firebox can be secured in either a horizontal plane or in a vertical plane by means of cradles carried by the legs. Each of the cradles includes a downwardly-extending opening and two stops which cooperate with a stub-shaft and transverse arm carried by the firebox.

Abstract: A means to support a rotisserie over an outdoor open fire; the rotisserie being hung from a frame by a chain. An adjusting means is provided to raise or lower the rotisserie relative to the fire, proportional to the heat required. Levelling means is included in order to adjust the level of the rotisserie so as to obtain uniform roasting of the meat mounted thereon. The frame can be disassembled for transportation.

Abstract: A portable barbecue having brackets for adjustably supporting the barbecue grid removably attached to the barbecue bowl solely by interengagement between the bowl and the brackets without any additional fastening or mounting members. Each of the brackets is insertable through a horizontal slot in the vertical upwardly extending sides of the barbecue bowl. The brackets are formed so as to provide biasing means which urge an upper notched portion of the bracket into vertical alignment with the sides of the bowl and the other end of the bracket into engagement with the bottom of the barbecue bowl. In one embodiment the other end of the bracket is extended so as to form short legs which are integral with the grid supporting bracket for maintaining the barbecue a short distance above the ground or other supporting surface such as a picnic table. Another embodiment has a separate tripod leg assembly for supporting the barbecue bowl above the ground at approximately the user's waist level.

Abstract: An apparatus for roasting or otherwise cooking wieners and for popping popcorn, said apparatus comprising a support structure having a rotatable arm member extending outwardly therefrom for removably receiving a wiener holder thereon for supporting a plurality of wieners thereon, said extended arm member adapted for supporting the wieners over a fire, or the like, whereby the wieners may be cooked or roasted as the arm is rotated about its own longitudinal axis. Alternately, the arm member may removably receive a suitable cage element whereby popcorn may be popped during rotation of the cage element as the arm member is rotated about its own longitudinal axis. The entire apparatus is particularly designed for portability for facilitating transport from site to site, and for ease of storage when not in use.
