Abstract: A data center having a hot aisle, a cold aisle, a row of server rack cabinets located between the cold aisle and the hot aisle, and a self-expanding gap filler located in a gap between adjacent elements in the data center is provided. The self-expanding gap filler includes a compressible material and an outer layer having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface defining an inner space, the outer layer encapsulating the compressible material within the inner space. The compressible material is configured to expand from a compressed state within the inner space of the outer layer to an expanded state within the inner space of the outer layer in response to a seal being at least partially released within the outer layer to allow air to flow into the inner space of the outer layer, whereby the self-expanding gap filler at least partially fills the gap between the adjacent elements in the data center.
Abstract: According to the invention, in a method of preparing a sandwich by introducing a filling between two mutually-facing portions of a piece of bread, the following operations are performed: placing a filling on a filling support dish; placing the dish with the filling on a tilting dish support fitted with a pusher or a handle; engaging the top and bottom portions of the piece of bread or dough product on either side of the pivot axis of the dish support; actuating the pusher or the handle to cause the dish support to tilt together with the dish towards a space for filling as defined by said top and bottom portions of the piece of bread or dough product so as to obtain an angle of inclination for the dish that is suitable for causing the filling to slide off the dish into the space for filling, while retaining the dish on the dish support.
Abstract: The present invention provides a device for performing multiple folding on a pastry case enclosing a stuffing so as to made stuffed foods with pastry cases, such as Chinese spring rolls and Mexican tacos. The device is characterized in that a stuffing feeder, a pastry case front folding plate, a pastry case front pressing stand, a pastry case two-sided folding plate, a pastry case flanging and pressing stand, and a consecutive folding and pressing stand are disposed on a conveyor belt of an apparatus in sequence, for performing the steps of: upon entry of the pastry case onto the conveyor belt, feeding a stuffing automatically and continuously, and then performing single folding, two-sided folding, and secondary bending-pressing, to thereby form stuffed foods with pastry cases by multiple folding.
Abstract: Devices and methods for preparing and packaging food items, such as sandwiches, for example, are provided. The devices and methods of the invention are particularly suited for efficiently making and packaging any type of sandwich. In one embodiment, the device can be a food assembly workbench that defines at least one workstation having an elongated generally planar surface and a vertically extended consumables storage structure that extends above and offset from the worksurface and contains one or more garnish receptacles, one or more condiment dispenser receptacles and one or more holders for packaging materials for packaging the prepared sandwiches.

Abstract: A method of making a crustless sandwich from two slices of bread with outer crusts, the method comprising: placing a first slice of bread on a platen; forming a mass of a first food spread onto the central portion of the first slice of bread in a position spaced inwardly from a marginal area where the mass is formed with an inner lower layer with an outer rim extending upwardly from the lower layer to define a closed pocket or receptacle recess in the mass; placing a second food spread in the receptacle recess; closing the receptacle recess with a layer of the first food spread generally coextensive with the mass and supported on the outer rim of the mass to encapsulate the second food spread into a center composite food layer; placing a second slice of bread over the first slice to cover the center composite food layer; cutting the bread slices in unison in a cut pattern to remove the crusts of the slices; and, pressing the two bread slices together by force through the slices against a pressure surface on t

Abstract: A sandwich preparation apparatus mounts a plurality of sandwich holder members arranged to receive, support and retain a sandwich in a partially open, generally upright condition for convenient filling with various, desired food ingredients and condiments, each of the plurality of sandwich holder members having an order card holder associated therewith for identifying each particular sandwich being prepared so that identification of each one of different multiple sandwiches is maintained throughout their concurrent preparation and as the apparatus is carried from place to place about a sandwich preparation area during the preparation of the sandwiches. After a sandwich is completed, an opened sandwich bag may be placed over the end portion of a sandwich holder member and a sandwich supported thereon simply pushed, in sliding fashion directly into the bag which may be given to a customer as a completed, packaged sandwich product.
