On the base (3) next to the motor housing (5), an open bowl (9) can be placed, journalled relative to the base (3). A transverse arm (17) can be coupled on the motor housing (5), which arm extends to above the bowl (9). A tool (19) can be placed in the bowl (9) and can be coupled to a transmission (25) which is arranged in the transverse arm (17) and can be driven by the electric motor (27). The bowl (9) can be driven into rotation by a pinion (21) which is also coupled to the transmission (25). The pinion (21) is displaceable along its axis of rotation relative to the transverse arm (17) and is displaced from a first into a second position through engagement with a toothed rim (23) of the bowl (9) when the transverse arm (17) is placed on the motor housing (,5).

Abstract: A kitchen machine is provided having a motor housing (5) on which an attachment (25) with a rotatable tool (33) may be placed, so that the tool (33) is removably attached to an end (35) of a drive shaft (43) which is drivable by an electric motor (23) arranged in the motor housing (5). The end (35) of the drive shaft (43) is self-aligning relative to the motor housing (5) by a displacement parallel to an X-direction transverse to the drive shaft (43) and a displacement parallel to a Y-direction transverse to the drive shaft (43) and the X-direction, so that the end (35) of the drive shaft (43) can align itself with the position of the tool (33) when the attachment (25) is placed in position, and friction losses between the end (35) of the drive shaft (43) and the tool (33) are minimal during operation.

  • Patent number: 5421248
Abstract: A multi-food processor and juice extractor is provided that includes a container which houses a filter assembly. The assembly is operatively connected to a shaft for rotating the assembly within the container. The food is milled within the filter assembly by a plurality of cutters integral with the assembly, and after filtering, juice and/or particulate food matter is received from a juice outlet. Food dregs collecting along an inside wall of the filter assembly is removed by a stopper. A rotary control knob is provided to place the stopper into either an engaged or disengaged position. The stopper expels the dregs by utilizing centrifugal force created by the spinning filter assembly. A spring attached to the control knob automatically returns the stopper to the disengaged position upon releasing the control knob.

Abstract: Apparatus for extracting juice from produce such as fruits and vegetables. The extractor has a base which includes a housing and a motor with a vertically aligned drive shaft. A blade basket detachably mounted on and driven by the output shaft separates produce into pulp and juice, and a juice bowl surrounding the blade basket collects the juice. The juice bowl is mounted on the base of the apparatus such that rotation of the bowl in a first direction relative to the base locks the bowl to the base. Rotation of the juice bowl in the opposite direction out of the locked position lifts the bowl away from the base and uncouples the blade basket from the drive shaft. An interlock system keeps the motor from being turned on until the juice bowl is locked to the base and a cover is locked onto the juice bowl. Performance is enhanced by, inter alia: anti-splashing provisions and vibration absorbing components which isolate the motor and the motor driven components of the apparatus.
