Publication number: 20140174302Abstract: A bran removing wire-mesh tube includes: bran removing wire-mesh tube parts 28 divided in more than one in a circumferential direction in planar view; and a plurality of support pillars 33 erected at intervals in the circumferential direction to respectively fix both side edges of the divided bran removing wire-mesh tube parts 28. Each of the support pillars 33 is provided with an elongated resistor 34 that suppresses grains from moving in the circumferential direction along with rotation of grinding type grain cleaning rolls 26. The resistor 34 is urged by an elastic member 37 to a position at which the resistor 34 protrudes toward the inside of a grain cleaning chamber 30. Further, the resistor 34 is provided so as to be movable in a radial direction to a position farther from the grain cleaning chamber 30 due to resistance from the grains.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2012Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: SATAKE CORPORATIONInventors: Yasuyoshi Seto, Fumio Tajima, Kazuto Nonaka, Yasunori Koike, Koji Yamamoto

Patent number: 5511469Abstract: There is disclosed an abrasive type vertical grain milling machine in which a space formed between any two adjacent ones of abrasive rolls serves as a jet air groove. The space serving as the jet air groove is of such an axial size that grain to be milled can come into and out of the space. Preferably, an axial thickness of the abrasive roll is 1.5.about.4 times larger than an axial magnitude of the space.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1995Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Assignee: Satake CorporationInventors: Satoru Satake, Shigeharu Kanamoto, Yutaka Okada, Nobuhiro Matsumoto

Patent number: 5413034Abstract: An abrasive type vertical grain milling machine comprises a perforated cylindrical body which serves to define an outer periphery of a grain milling chamber and which has a plurality of vertically arranged resistance members projected radially into the grain milling chamber so as to impart resistances to motions of the grains in a circumferential direction of an abrasive type roll assembly, an amount of projections of each of the resistance members being made to be adjustable, and further has projection amount adjusting mechanisms for adjusting independently the respective amounts of projection in the radial direction of the plural resistance members located in different vertical positions, and therefore, it is possible to adjust independently the resistance imparted to the motions of the grains within the grain milling chamber in each of the upstream-side region and downstream-side region of the grain milling chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1994Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Satake CorporationInventors: Satoru Satake, Yutaka Okada, Shigeru Ariji

Patent number: 5394792Abstract: An abrasive type vertical grain milling machine comprises a perforated cylindrical body having at least one perforated arcuate plate member which is formed therein with both a first group of elongated bran-removing holes serving to lead grain to be milled in a direction from an inlet side toward an outlet side of a grain milling chamber when the grain is rotated in the direction of rotation of a grain milling roll assembly within the grain milling chamber and a second group of elongated bran-removing holes serving to lead the grain to be milled in a direction from the outlet side toward the inlet side of the grain milling chamber when the grain is rotated in the direction of rotation of the grain milling roll assembly within the grain milling chamber, and therefore, grain can be milled highly efficiently and the progress of breakage of grains caused at the time of grain milling can be suppressed.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1994Date of Patent: March 7, 1995Assignee: Satake CorporationInventors: Satoru Satake, Yutaka Okada, Shigeru Ariji

Patent number: 5211343Abstract: A milling system for cereal grains such as wheat includes one or more bran removal machines which removes a substantial fraction of the bran of the incoming wheat to form a pearled wheat. The pearled wheat is then supplied as a feed stock to a disc mill in the first break position. The bran removal machines preferably include inner and outer abrasive elements, wherein the outer abrasive elements extend over a cumulative arc of at least about 250 degrees. Because a substantial portion of the bran is removed prior to the first break position, prior art problems associated with bran fragmentation in a disc mill are reduced.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1992Date of Patent: May 18, 1993Assignee: ConAgra, Inc.Inventor: Warner Wellman

Patent number: 5048407Abstract: The versatility of a grain husking and polishing machine to treat grains of different types is improved by providing a grain treatment chamber constituted by an abrasive rotor mounted on a fixed axis and a screen assembly surrounding said rotor and mounted on a movable annular plate actuated by a sidewardly movable mechanism capable of changing the eccentrically of said screen assembly with respect to said rotor. A more efficient combined husking and polishing action is accomplished by providing a rotor comprising a plurality of cam-like abrasive discs spaced apart by a corresponding plurality of spacer rings having a diameter smaller than that of the discs so as to form grain expansion chambers therebetween, whereby an energetic husking action followed by a moderate abrading polishing action are effected along the treatment chamber.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1990Date of Patent: September 17, 1991Inventor: Felipe Salete-Garces

Patent number: 5036757Abstract: The apparatus comprises a stator (1) and a rotor (3) rotatably supported in a stator housing (2) with a processing space (9) therebetween. The stator housing (2) and rotor (3) are fitted with knobs on their mutually facing sides in the region of the processing space (9) where the corn is processed. Work elements (8, 13, 21) with knobs are positioned in approximation of a circle at the stator housing (2) and at the rotor (3). The inside of the stator housing is divided in the cirucmferential direction into siftings segments (21, 22) with sieve holes provided in an alternating manner with knob segments. The stator housing (2) includes at least two detachable housing wall parts (14, 15) making the processing space (9) easily accessible in the event of operational disturbance therein.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1989Date of Patent: August 6, 1991Assignee: Buehler AGInventor: Roman Mueller

Patent number: 4583455Abstract: A screen and rotor assembly for a grain husking, decorticating, polishing and whitening machine, and including an abrading screen supported by a screen holder, and an abrading rotor concentrically arranged within the abrading screen. The spacing between working surfaces of the abrading screen and the abrading rotor is maintained at a constant value, despite wear of the abrading surfaces thereof, by a plurality of axially extending channels in the screen holder for housing a corresponding plurality of abrading members such that the abrading members in turn support the edges of a plurality of alternate screen members located between each pair of consecutive channels, the channels being provided with a plurality of adjustable fasteners for holding the abrading members and for adjusting the radial position thereof.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1984Date of Patent: April 22, 1986Inventor: Felipe Salete-Garces

Patent number: 3960068Abstract: A whitening, polishing or pearling machine for grains and cereals and more particularly for rice, vertically disposed, composed of an integral chamber which has an entry or grain feeder, said grain being transported to a section where it is treated in order to whiten or polish it, the grain once treated being passed through a centrifugal extractor to collect the product, or to a regulating hopper which is connected directly to another machine exactly like the first in order to complete the treatment or to another process if the grain has now been totally polished. The grain is treated by centrifuging by means of a rotor which casts it toward screens, raising it by the thrust of a feed screw which rubs the grains against each other, against the screens and also against work-intensifying knives located within the treatment section or chamber, driving out the particles of the flour produced during treatment to a discharge where they are collected.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1975Date of Patent: June 1, 1976Inventor: Felipe Salete
