  • Patent number: 6457404
Abstract: An apparatus for processing polished cereal to obtain no-bran cereal having a reduced size. The apparatus comprises a polished cereal processing section for removing bran remaining on surfaces of polished cereal by mixing granular material with the polished cereal so that the remaining bran is captured by the granular material, and separating the polished cereal with bran removed and the granular material with bran captured; and a granular material reprocessing section for reprocessing the granular material with bran captured and feeding back the reprocessed granular material to the polished cereal processing section for recycling the granular material. The granular material reprocessing section includes a screen tube for separating the granular material within a predetermined granularity range and a removing roller arranged to rotate in the screen tube for removing the bran captured on surfaces of the granular material fed into the screen tube.

  • Patent number: 5419252
Abstract: A vertical milling machine comprises a first milling part and a second milling part situated under the first milling part, the first and second milling parts having a common main shaft extending vertically. The first milling part has a supply part of grain on an upper end side thereof and a discharge pare of grain having been milled in the first milling part on a lower end side thereof. The second milling part has a supply part of grain to be milled in the second milling part on a lower end side thereof and a discharge part of grain having been milled in the second milling part on an upper end side thereof. The grain discharge part of the first milling part is communicated with the grain supply part of the second milling part through a grain transfer passage extending therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5209158
Abstract: A machine for cleaning and polishing grains comprises at least one treatment chamber which includes an upper frusto conical baffle having a central opening to admit grains thereinto, an intermediate rotatory disc to impart movement to the grains falling thereon through said opening and a lower frusto conical baffle having a central opening to discharge the grains, said upper frusto conical baffle having a stationary brush and a stationary set of flexible fingers vertically hanging therefrom, and said rotatory disc having a rotatory brush and a rotatory set of flexible fingers hanging from its lower surface in a direction and to a distance suitable to confront the upper surface of said lower frusto conical baffle, whereby the grains are cleaned by the action of said stationary brush and set of fingers on the moving grains driven by the rotatory disc, and by the action of said rotatory brush and set of fingers on the grains sliding down said lower frusto conical baffle.
