Abstract: A notebook binder device having a first and second member. The first member having a front cover section. The front cover section having a central opening defining a window. The first member includes a connecting fold. The second member having a transparent, see through, cover and a back. When the first and second members are connected the back is viewed through the window and the transparent middle cover section. The second member includes a connecting fold suitable for connecting the connecting fold of the first member and for connecting the transparent cover section. Rivets and other connecting devices are adapted to connect the first and second members. Additionally, the rivets include male and female paper holding members for holding papers between the front and back covers.

Abstract: A ring binder adapted to be secured to an article by at least one integral rivet, the ring binder comprising a substantially rigid integral upper plate supporting a pair of pivotable lower plates to which a plurality of ring members are mounted, the rivet comprising (1) a barrel that is in direct engagement with the upper plate and (2) a plurality of claws for securing the article, wherein at least 75% of said claws extend away from a longitudinal axis of the barrel. Also disclosed is a rivet adapted to secure a ring binder to an article, the rivet comprising (1) a barrel for engaging the ring binder and (2) a plurality of claws for securing the article, wherein at least a majority of the claws generally extend away from a longitudinal axis of the barrel.

Abstract: A protective sleeve or jacket for displaying and storing a greeting card or other similarly folded flat object such as a program, announcement or invitation is disclosed. The sleeve is made from a single rectangular sheet of transparent synthetic polymeric film, such as polypropylene, incorporating five parallel transverse folds. Narrow binding flaps project from the back of the sleeve and provide a means for binding the sleeve as a page in an album. The greeting card is inserted through the open top or bottom of the sleeve and the card's center fold is aligned with the center fold of the sleeve. An album containing one or more of these sleeve pages is also disclosed.
Abstract: A retractor (50), for a binder (20) having two covers (22, 24) foldably connected by a spine (26) and selectively closable by a split gusset (28) carrying a slide fastener (34) and having an extending portion (36), includes an elastic member (52) having one end (54) connected to the extending portion and the opposite end (56) fixedly positioned along the spine. As the covers are closed, the extending portion is drawn inwardly along the spine, and as the covers are opened the extending portion moves stretchably outwardly along the spine.
