Abstract: A medicament delivery device for a mixing process to create a therapeutic substance for delivery within a multi-chambered cartridge, the delivery device includes a distal part with a dose setting mechanism having a housing, a dose setting knob, an injection button, a piston rod capable of moving axially along the longitudinal axis of the housing during dose delivery, and a return ring configured to reset the piston rod to a starting position. The delivery device also includes a proximal part including a cartridge holder configured to accept a multi-chambered cartridge, the cartridge holder including a screw driven sleeve configured for attachment to the distal part and rotation of the screw driven sleeve performing a medicament mixing process within the multi-chambered cartridge.
Abstract: A connector arrangement (10) for connecting to a fluid chamber (6) of a blood treatment unit (4) for extracorporeal blood treatments. The connector arrangement (10) includes a connector device (11) with a connector body (47) comprising a port opening (43) and an interior wall (50) defining a port space (39) designed to receive a first fluid port (8A) of the fluid chamber (6). The connector device (11) also incorporates a fluid path (35a) extending from the port space (39) to a first end opening (51) of the connector device (11), and an air path (36a) extending from the port space (39) to a second end opening (52) of the connector device (11), wherein the fluid path (35a) and the air path (36a) are separate paths. Also a system (1) for extracorporeal blood treatment including the connector arrangement (10) and a method for priming the fluid chamber (6).
Abstract: Injection devices for delivering pharmaceutical compositions into the eye are described. Some devices include a resistance component for controllably deploying an injection needle through the eye wall. The resistance component may be disposed on the injector device, or on a portion of the injection device housing, or on a drug reservoir. Some devices may be removably attached to a drug reservoir, for example, through a luer connector. Other devices may comprise internal luer seal for securely connecting a drug conduit of the device to the luer cavity of a drug reservoir. Yet other devices may comprise a priming-enabling element to facilitate the drug priming of a shielded needle. Related methods and systems comprising the devices are also described.
Abstract: A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). When a CSR wrap (1000) is disposed about the tray (100), the printed instructions can be placed atop the CSR wrap (1000) but beneath an outer sterile wrap (1002). The printed instructions (1001) can include a patient portion (1202) that is detachably coupled to a health care services portion (1201) such that it can be taken home with the patient after the procedure.

Abstract: A syringe assembly includes a substantially cylindrical syringe barrel including a fluid dispensing end, an open end, and at least one protrusion adjacent the open end, the at least one protrusion projecting inwardly from an inner surface of the syringe barrel, a stopper configured to be received within the open end of the syringe barrel, and a plunger rod having a plunger rod body extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and at least one support disk provided on the distal end thereof. The support disk on the plunger rod is configured to bear against the protrusion of the syringe barrel upon misalignment of the plunger rod in the syringe barrel.
Abstract: A dose setting mechanism for a drug delivery device is disclosed. The mechanism comprises an outer housing and an inner housing having an external groove. The inner housing guides a driver to dispense a set dose. A dial sleeve is disposed between the outer and inner housing and is rotatably engaged with the inner housing. When a dose is set, the dial sleeve is rotated and translates away from both the outer housing and the inner housing.
Abstract: The tool for extracting broken endodontic instrument has a cylindrical, tubular body. The body has a cap at one end and a conical nose at the opposite end. A gripper tube for gripping a broken endodontic file extends from the conical nose. The body of the tool houses a heating or soldering device equipped with a magazine of balls of solder. The gripper tube has an open tip dimensioned for slidably receiving an end of the broken file and resilient gripper prongs inside the tube allowing insertion of the end of the file but preventing the file from exiting the gripper tube. The heating device may be turned on to melt a ball of solder to solder the gripper prongs to the broken file to further secure the broken file to the gripper tube for extraction of the broken endodontic tube from the root canal.

Abstract: Described is a medicament delivery device (1), comprising a body (2), a container carrier (7) for retaining a medicament container within the body (2) and being slidably disposed in the body (2), a sleeve (6) slidably coupled to body (2), and a piston rod (11) coupled to the body (2) and the container carrier (7). The piston rod (11) and the container carrier (7) provide a feedback as the container carrier (7) moves from a first position (P1) to a second position (P2) relative to the body (2).
Abstract: A needle assembly for pleural space insufflation is disclosed. The needle assembly has an outer shaft defining one or more pliable tissue receivers. The needle assembly also has a needle moveable within the outer shaft from a retracted position to an engaged position that does not extend past a distal end of the outer shaft. A method of pleural space insufflation is also disclosed. A parietal pleura is contacted with a distal end of an outer shaft that defines one or more pliable tissue receivers. The distal end of the outer shaft is pushed against the parietal pleura so that a portion of the parietal pleura enters the one or more pliable tissue receivers. A needle is advanced within the outer shaft so that the needle pierces the parietal pleura.
Abstract: A dual lumen IV administration set includes a first lumen having an inner diameter of a first value. A second lumen is paired with the first lumen, and the second lumen has an inner diameter of a second value that is greater than the first value. A flow merger merges flow output from a distal end of the first lumen and flow output from a distal end of the second lumen to form a single flow output in an exit lumen. An injection port intersects the first lumen, thereby providing injection access to flow therethrough, prior to merging with the flow output of the second lumen.
