Abstract: A no-slip, no-spill, no-hands urinal provides freedom and a hygienic environment for a person confined to a wheelchair or bed. The urinal is shaped so it stays in place without being held, is resistant to urine spillage, and can be comfortably used for hours at a time. The urinal includes a soft, clear plastic body with rounded edges, and is shaped so it fits close to the body of the user and under the thighs of the user. It thereby uses the pressure of the thighs of the user to hold it in place. The urinal has a concave front section, conforming with the male anatomy, allowing a closer and more comfortable fit for male users. The no-spill feature includes a platform portion which also serves to keep the male member above the opening in the receptacle portion of the urinal.
Abstract: A no-slip, no-spill, no-hands urinal is used to provide more freedom and a more hygienic environment for a person confined to a wheelchair or bed. The urinal includes a soft, clear plastic body with rounded edges, and having a shape permitting it to be fit close to the body of the user and under the thighs of the user. The shape of the urinal is flattened toward the front. The urinal has a concave front section, conforming with the male anatomy, allowing a closer and more comfortable fit for male users. The urinal includes a no-spill feature, provided by a platform portion inside the opening formed in the urinal body, and this platform additionally serves to keep the male member above the opening in the receptacle portion of the urinal and to keep the male member out of the urine in the receptacle portion. The platform portion enables the urinal to retain liquid without spilling even when it is tilted forward.
Abstract: A carrier is described for supporting a urine drainage bag, enabling the user to carry the drainage bag from place to place and support the bag on a horizontal surface. The carrier is in the form of a molded, one-piece open frame with top, side and bottom walls. The bag is supported on a hook that extends downwardly from the frame top wall. A urine collection receptacle is positioned in the bottom of the frame, with the frame being sized so that the lower end of the bag extends into the receptacle, but above the frame bottom wall when the bag is supported on the hook.
Abstract: A patient basin has a bottom, a sloping front wall, and an upstanding back wall. The front edge is curved to fit below the patient's mouth. The back wall includes an integral vertical grip defined by a pair of finger receiving notches.
Abstract: A basin adapted to receive and contain a fluid draining from an irrigated wound or abscess on a portion of a person's body. The basin is anatomically contoured and dimensioned to permit a fluid tight seal between the person's skin and the basin when a potion of the rim of the basin is in juxtaposition with a variety of contoured portions of the body such as the trunk, arm head, finger, neck, and the like. The basin consists of a bowl-like container having unitary construction and having a flat, substantially planar bottom portion. The perimeter of the bottom portion is trilobate, having a plurality of convex curves or lobes around the outer periphery thereof. The lobes are convex, projecting generally outward from the center of the bottom portion, each lobe having a different radius of curvature than the other lobes. The bottom portion of the basin is bounded by a smooth continuous wall projecting upward and slightly outward from the periphery of the bottom portion.
