Abstract: An electronic knife assembly and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the knife includes a blade and a handle operably couplable to the blade. The handle can include an oscillator operably coupled to the blade, at least one sensor configured to obtain one or more measurements, and a controller operably coupled to the oscillator and the least one sensor. The measurements from the sensor can include a spatial position of the electronic knife, a spatial orientation of the electronic knife, a mass of a user's hand, a grip of the user's hand, and/or a resistance to the oscillation of the blade. The controller can adjust an operating frequency of the oscillator based at least partially on the one or more measurements from the at least one sensor. The handle can also include a wireless power supply.
Abstract: An introduction needle includes a needle piercing portion. The needle piercing portion comprises a piercing projection, the piercing projection includes a substrate and a needle tooth, the needle tooth is fixedly arranged on a side surface of a side of the substrate, a central axis of the needle tooth is perpendicular to the side surface of the substrate.
Abstract: Rotating dental systems and related guards and methods are disclosed. In some instances a guard may be configured to prevent material from building up on at least a portion of the dental system. The guard may be configured to prevent materials from being discharged from the dental system. In some embodiments, the guard may also be configured to direct the flow of material along a portion of the dental system. Some guards within the scope of this disclosure comprise bristles.

Abstract: An improved method and device are provided for forming and/or maintaining a percutaneous access pathway. The device generally comprises at least one of three type of components: access pathway, insertion device, and attachment device. In one embodiment, the device is used to form and/or maintain a percutaneous access pathway into the pleural cavity (i.e. tube thoracostomy). The provided assembly substantially reduces the possibility of iatrogenic infection while accessing and/or re-accessing a body space.
