Abstract: A hair band of flexible material includes a body, two hair retaining portions respectively attached to two ends of the body and being of a first curvature, and two extension plates respectively attached to the hair retaining portions and being of a second curvature. Each hair retaining portion includes an elongate receiving hole defined therein and extending along a longitudinal direction thereof. A slot is defined in a medial portion of each hair retaining portion, thereby defining an engaging section at a distal end of the hair retaining portion. Each engaging section has a passage defined therein which communicates an outside with the elongate receiving hole. Each extension plate has a width slightly smaller than that of the associated passage and also smaller than that of the associated elongate receiving hole and includes a plurality of spaced snapping protrusions formed on a side thereof, a distance between two adjacent snapping protrusions being slightly greater than a length of the engaging section.
Abstract: A method of french braiding hair includes the step of selecting a braiding aid having a plurality of flexible and resilient loops, each loop connected to the next loop in a series and each loop being individually expandable. A person's hair has separated therefrom one strand of hair which is passed through the selective braiding aid first loop and separating the one strand of hair into two crossed strands. The first loop is then released and two strands of hair, each including a portion of the strand passing through the first loop, is passed through the second loop while the second loop is expanded with the thumb and forefinger. The second loop is released and the hair is worked through the remaining loops in this fashion until a person's hair is french braided.
Abstract: A hair restraint comprising a band having a decorative assembly at an end, the decorative assembly including a first wire with one or more decorations strung thereon, a crimp bead on the first wire at each end of the decorations, with a loop in an end of the first wire interengaging a loop in the end of the band, with the band loop fixed in place defining a closed loop, and with said the end of the first wire threaded back into one of the crimp beads and at least some of said decorations, and a second wire wrapped around the closed loop of said band with each of the crimp beads squeezed onto the first wire. A method of making such a hair restraint.
