Abstract: A method for making a cellular rubber is described, in which water is added to a high water absorption resin, followed by allowing the resulting mixture to stand and form a hydrous gel. The hydrous gel, with or without a foaming agent, is added to a rubber compound and subjected to foaming under conditions sufficient for vulcanization thereby obtaining a cellular rubber having a closed cell structure. Cosmetic puffs using the cellular rubber are also described.
Abstract: Described are cis isomers, trans isomers and mixtures of cis and trans isomers of methyl-thio-2-methyl-2-pentenoate defined according to one of the structures: ##STR1## wherein the wavy lines represent "cis" and "trans" configurations of methyl, ethyl and methylthiocarboxy moieties around the carbon-carbon double bond; ##STR2## and uses of such methyl-thio-2-methyl-2-pentenoates in augmenting or enhancing the aroma of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles such as solid or liquid anionic, cationic, nonionic or zwitterionic detergents, fabric softener compositions, fabric softener articles and optical brighteners and perfumed polymer compositions.
