    Abstract: A magnetic recording medium includes a magnetic recording layer. The magnetic recording layer includes a first magnetic layer formed as a pattern portion that is a data portion in a servo region, a second magnetic layer formed as a non-pattern portion that is magnetized to be antiparallel with a magnetization direction of the first magnetic layer and of which coercive force is lower than a coercive force of the first magnetic layer, and a nonmagnetic layer formed between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer.
