Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Pyrus communis named ‘Rhenus 3’ that is compatible as a rootstock with all pear varieties tested and when used as a rootstock for pear varieties, does not cause significant dwarfing. When used as a rootstock, ‘Rhenus 3’ results in high yield efficiency, early yield (precocity), substantially uniform fruit size, high frost hardiness, no suckering, and good soil adaptation.
