    Abstract: A system for transferring energy to a vehicle, in particular a track bound vehicle, such as a light rail vehicle, wherein the system includes an electric conductor arrangement adapted to produce an electromagnetic field which can be received by the vehicle thereby transferring the energy to the vehicle the system further includes electric and/or electronic devices which are adapted to operate the electric conductor arrangement. The devices produce heat while operating the conductor arrangement and—therefore—are to be cooled. A cooling arrangement of the system includes a structure having a cavity in which at least one of the devices to be cooled is located. The structure includes a cover limiting the cavity at the top, wherein the device(s) to be cooled is/are located at a distance to the cover. The structure is integrated in the ground at the path of travel of the vehicle in such a manner that the cover forms a part of the surface of the ground.

No. 5,825,177 and a wayside coded tag (1) providing a coding recognizable by the onboard speed measurement device (6). The coded tag (1) consists of a bar (4) with several slots (3) in which metal blocks (2) of different sizes are mounted. The block sizes and positions are selected to represent a coding according to Quadrature Amplitude Modulation.

    Abstract: A steering system for a vehicle adapted to travel on a track or a guideway includes a drive shaft having a rotational axis and first and second substantially semicircular gear elements provided on the drive shaft and adapted to engage first and second racks, respectively. The first and second substantially semicircular gear elements are offset along the rotational axis of the drive shaft and are located about a common end of the drive shaft. The first substantially semicircular gear element engages the first rack when the drive shaft is rotated in a first direction while the second substantially semicircular gear element engages the second rack when the drive shaft is rotated in a second direction, the second direction being opposite to the first direction. Both first and second substantially semicircular gear elements engage the first and the second rack, respectively, when the drive shaft is in a neutral position.

The railway crossover may be a rail frog or a diamond crossing. The method may also include creating a three-dimensional surface contour model of the crossover by replicating a standard crossover profile; creating a wheel profile model that matches a wheel profile for a rail vehicle of the railway; defining wheel contact surface for the rail vehicle by transposing the wheel profile model over the standard crossing surface contour model; and modeling a raised weld section to be placed along the wheel contact surface.

The two motor mounts are located proximate a different extremity of the primary and support the linear induction motor underneath the bogie frame. Each one of the two motor mounts has a bogie interface, a motor interface, a first spring, a conical spring, a core pin and a nut. The first spring is connected to the bogie interface on the bogie side while the conical spring is connected to the same bogie interface on the motor side. The core pin extends sequentially from the motor interface through the conical spring, then through the bogie interface and finally through the first spring where it is held in place by the nut on the other side of the first spring.
