Abstract: Described herein is a process for applying granular material on an outer side of a foodstuff product (P). This process comprises the steps of: providing a mould (2; 102) having a mould cavity (S; S?) that is delimited, at least partially, by at least one mobile wall (22B; 106); positioning the product (P) in said mould cavity by setting said outer side (p1) in a position facing and at a distance from said mobile wall (22); introducing granular material in the gap (24; 112) comprised between said mobile wall (22B; 106) and said outer side of said product; and moving said mobile wall (22B; 106) towards said outer side of said product so that it comes to press said granular material against said outer side (p1) of said product (P).
Abstract: An all-solid state double layer capacitor and an all-solid state multicell electrochemical device are disclosed. The electrolyte material employed in the devices consists of a polymer such as polyethylene oxide and an inorganic salt which renders the polymer material ionically conductive.
Abstract: The process comprises combining prepared ?-cyclodextrin solution and prepared ethinyl estradiol solution, then removing the solvent by spray-drying for obtaining an ethinyl estradiol ?-cyclodextrin complex. The obtainable amorphous ethinyl estradiol ?-cyclodextrin complex is suitable for use in pharmaceutical compositions and formulations comprising it.

Abstract: A stroke judgment device includes a gear having a portion with no teeth, a pulse generator, an intake pipe internal pressure detecting device and an ECU. The ECU controls an injector(s) and the ignition timing of a spark plug(s). The ECU mainly includes a phase detecting device for detecting the phase of the crankshaft, a first stroke judging device for judging stroke based on detected phase and intake pipe internal pressure, a rotational cycle detection device for detecting rotational cycle of the crankshaft, a comparison device for comparing two rotation cycles of specified phase, a second stroke judging device for judging stroke based on results of comparison, and selection device for selecting one of the first stroke judging device or the second stroke judging device.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to films such as membranes and coatings and to coated articles. The films comprise a combination of at least one elastomeric styrenic block copolymer which is optionally functionalized with functional groups different from sulfonic acid or sulfonate ester functional groups, and at least one sulfonated block copolymer. Films comprising the optionally functionalized block copolymer(s) and the additional sulfonated block copolymer(s) are elastic and are moisture-vapor permeable, and thus useful as coatings in breathable clothing and footwear, industrial workwear including cleanroom coveralls, in medical applications such as wound dressings and protective clothing, for bed sheets and mattress or seat covers, and other non-apparel applications.

Abstract: Optical systems for use with reflective LCDs (8,9,32,34,36) are provided. The systems include a polarization beam splitter (5) which can be composed of polarization beam splitting cubes (26) having sheet polarizers (30) and/or half wave plates (28) at their mating surfaces. By orienting the half wave plates (28) so that they convert S polarization to P polarization and P polarization to S polarization, the polarization beam splitter (5) can provide a high contrast ratio at a viewing screen between light from the “on” and “off” pixels of the reflective LCDs (8,9,32,34,36).

Abstract: A cartridge (1) for an injection device carries a code represented by a number of bars (2, 3, 4, 5) mainly perpendicular to the axis of the cartridge. The bars (2, 3, 4, 5) are mainly transparent and are each along its whole length provided with an optical grating which diffracts and reflects light impinging the surface carrying the code so that a minor part of this light is reflected from the surface of the bar as a set of light beams of which beams at least one is detected for the indication of the presence of the bar when said bar passes a reading light field. The reflections from the bars may be interpreted as representing “1”s and “0”s in a binary code.
Abstract: A method for removing from a terrain (T) a buried longitudinal portion (P) of a substantially cylindrical pipe made of a ductile material and of a type suitable for use in oil pipelines, water pipelines, gas pipelines or the like, which method comprises steps of: digging at least an excavation (S1, S2) in the terrain (T), at a longitudinal end (P1, P2) of the buried portion (P) to be removed, such as to make the end accessible; making at least a through-cut in the wall of the portion (P) of pipe to be removed, so as to obtain at least a strip having two opposite longitudinal edges which define a width of the strip that is smaller than a circumference of a wall of the portion (P) of pipe; taking the strip and removing it from the terrain, passing it through the excavation (S1, S2); and obstructing the underground volume that has housed the portion (P) of the pipe (P) and the excavation (S1, S2) with filler material.
Abstract: Use of escitalopram (the S-(+)-enantiomer of citalopram) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for the preparation of a medicament useful in the treatment of neurotic disorders is provided, including anxiety states, in particular generalised anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and panic attacks.
Abstract: A method and structure for analyzing a database having non-text data in data fields and text in text fields. The invention first selects a subset of the database based upon criteria. The subset includes data field(s) and associated text field(s). The invention searches for data matching the criteria within structured data fields of the database. If the invention searches multiple databases, the invention creates shared dimensions for databases that do not share common attributes. The invention automatically selects a relatively short text phrase from the text fields that helps to explain the underlying meaning (i.e. unique text content) of a data subset selected using the non-text data fields.

Abstract: A shingle having butt and tab portions is provided, wherein the tab portions are exposed when applied to a roof, and wherein active photovoltaic element(s) appear on portions only of the tab portions of the shingles, wherein adjacent zones of the tab portions of the shingles to which the photovoltaic element(s) are applied are free of active photovoltaic elements. The shingles are applied to a roof or a major portion of a roof, laid up in courses so that exposed tab portions of next-overlying courses cover unexposed butt portions of next-underlying courses, leaving photovoltaic elements exposed. In an array of shingles on a roof, the photovoltaic elements are distributed substantially uniformally. The surface ornamentation of the exposed surfaces of the photovoltaic elements may be either complementary to the exposed surfaces of the shingles not having photovoltaic elements thereon, or may blend with such zones not having photovoltaic elements thereon.
Abstract: A system and method for processing certificates located in a certificate search. Certificates located in a certificate search are processed at a data server (e.g. a mobile data server) coupled to a computing device (e.g. a mobile device) to determine status data that can be used to indicate the status of those certificates to a user of the computing device. Selected certificates may be downloaded to the computing device for storage, and the downloaded certificates are tracked by the data server. This facilitates the automatic updating of the status of one or more certificates stored on the computing device by the data server, in which updated status data is pushed from the data server to the computing device.

Abstract: A system and method for searching and retrieving certificates, which may be used in the processing of encoded messages. In one embodiment, a certificate synchronization application is programmed to perform certificate searches by querying one or more certificate servers for all of the certificates on those certificate servers. If all of the certificates on a certificate server cannot be successfully retrieved using a single search query, due to a search quota on the certificate server being exceeded for example, the search is re-performed through multiple queries, each corresponding to a narrower subsearch. Embodiments described herein enable large amounts of certificates to be automatically searched for and retrieved from certificate servers, thereby minimizing the need for users to manually search for individual certificates.
