Patent number: 4340087Abstract: An electrically controlled hydraulic remote controller for use in piloting the operation of a hydraulic control valve comprising a pair of electrically operated three-way pressure control valves. Each control valve has a supply pressure inlet and a controlled pressure outlet operable in the de-energized position to prevent flow from the supply inlet to said controlled pressure outlet and connect said outlet to tank pressure. Each valve when energized is operable to permit fluid flow from the inlet to the controlled pressure outlet in proportion to the solenoid force operating said valve and simultaneously permit fluid to flow to tank pressure. The controller is responsive to the higher of the controlled pressure of the outlets of the two pressure controlled valves for applying the higher controlled pressure to the valve having the lower controlled pressure to operate the valve in direction increasing the passage of fluid through the other valve to tank.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1980Date of Patent: July 20, 1982Assignee: Sperry CorporationInventor: Yehia El-Ibiary

Patent number: 4330007Abstract: A number of systems exist wherein a plurality of hydraulic motors (28a, 28b, 28c) receive pressurized fluid from a single pump (14) which is itself driven by an electric motor (12). Apparatus has been available for adjusting the power supplied to the electric motor (12), and thereby adjusting the pump (14) flow rate, in response to the operator activating one or more of the hydraulic motors (28a, 28b, 28c). However, such apparatus has generally been bulky, complicated and/or difficult to install and/or service. An improvement is provided wherein a single switch (22) is placed in either an open or closed position as an elongated member (34) placed transversely to a plurality of generally parallel rod member (20a, 20b, 20c) is rotated in response to longitudinal travel in either direction from a neutral position (32) of one of the rod member (20a, 20b, 20c).Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1980Date of Patent: May 18, 1982Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Edward V. Patent number: 4330013Abstract: Means for sensing a discrepant position between two normally closed valves of a double valve assembly used to control an industrial machine such as an air-operated press clutch and brake. The indicating means comprises switch means responsive to the movement of each of the valves and so positioned that the switch means is actuated very close to the closed position of each valve. The switch means controls power to solenoid-operated pilot valves for the two main control valves of the double valve assembly. By controlling the switch means immediately adjacent the closed valve positions, the safe or closed part of the cycle is monitored for these valves, which are in themselves stable because of their normally closed nature. The switch means may be either cam-operated mechanical switches, proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, or contacts directly engageable by the inlet valve elements and utilizing the valve body itself as part of the electrical circuit.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1980Date of Patent: May 18, 1982Assignee: Ross Operating Valve CompanyInventor: Russell J.
