Abstract: In vivo assay methods for detecting tumors having amplified expression of the HER2 receptor are disclosed. In the assay, cells within the body of a mammal are exposed to an antibody which specifically binds to the extracellular domain of the HER2 receptor and inhibits growth in vitro of SK-BR-3 breast tumor cells which overexpress p185.sup.HER2. The antibody is generally tagged with a radioactive isotope to permit the extent of binding of the antibody to the cells to be quantified.

Abstract: A pizza box having a plurality of ribs, which are selectively moveable between a first stored position and a second upright position is provided. The ribs are coupled to at least one actuating strip, which enables the ribs to be simultaneously shifted from the first stored position to the second upright position. The ribs and the actuating strip are formed from the same piece of material. The actuating strip may be configured to interlock with the box to maintain the ribs in the second upright position. There is also a stop tab configured to prevent the actuating strip from moving the ribs beyond a predetermine point.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique to efficiently pack a print volume of 3D printers having print jobs with a large number of objects. The technique positions unique objects that adhere to a similar structural pattern more closely when the degree of variation between the objects is small. Thus, while each object is unique, a greater extent of similarity between the objects causes a given group of objects to be positioned more closely to one another in the print area of the 3D printer.

Abstract: A drive transformer for use in a p.w.m. power supply which has alternately conducting power switching devices. The single transformer includes a primary winding, a secondary winding and a regenerative winding. When one of the devices finally becomes nonconductive the other of the devices may turnon. The regenerative winding aids the conduction of that device and also reinforces the drive signal to the device which receives from the drive circuitry of the supply a turnon drive signal.
Abstract: A multiple layer composite material having fluid breach detection features provides indication of a failure in a fluid barrier. The indication of breach of fluid is provided before failure of a final layer of the composite material. The multiple layer composite material includes more than one fluid impermeable layer with an intermediate layer sealed between the fluid impermeable layers. Failure of one of the fluid impermeable layers is detected by fluid contact in the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer includes a reagent and/or detection device to indicate that the fluid has reached the intermediate layer.

Abstract: A battery charger for lithium ion cells closely monitors cell voltage, and charge time, so as to avoid the over-application of charge to the cell. Charge pulses (104) are followed by a first rest (110), a discharge (112) and a second rest, (120) period prior to re-initiating the charge pulse. If the battery voltage reaches a preselected maximum, in less than a pre-selected period of time, the charge pulse is reduced by a preselected minimum factor. Cycling of the cell is continued until the cells are fully charged.
Abstract: A master clock oscillator produces a series of control pulses to drive a multiple frequency L.E.D. illuminator and an optically coaxial synchronous detection system in an AC based organic/inorganic, ripe/unripe sorter. Data is collected by subjecting free-falling articles to a repetitious sampling cycle and detecting the reflected pulses. Counters running at differential rates, store binary data relating to the size and ripe/unripe condition of the article. At the end of the sampling period, an accept/reject determination is made, based upon the binary data.
Abstract: An electric lamp comprises a lamp vessel (1) and a cap (10) having integrally a housing (11) and an intermediate spring part (15) with a connecting device (17) on it. The cap is supplied with contact members (14) and reference studs. The spring part keeps the lamp positioned on a carrier (30) by a permanent press force. The electric lamp is compact, can be simply assembled and can be used in front-, back- and plate-mounting, possibly in combination with an adapter (25).
