Abstract: A unit for viewing and supplying light or radiant energy to the interior of a vessel that has a front fused glass window. The light and camera-viewing means see the interior of a vessel through this fused glass window which provides a substantially corrosion-proof seal across the entire distal portion of the unit. The light and camera-viewing means are pointed into the interior of the vessel in substantially the same direction.

Abstract: The principal embodiment of the present invention is a preloaded single-use instant camera. The single-use instant camera is provided with user-inaccessible film holding compartment in a sealed light-tight enclosure and a predetermined number of pressure-processable film units stacked in said compartment. The preloaded single-use instant camera is also provided with user operated manual means for sequentially withdrawing the preloaded pressure-processable film units, whereby withdrawal effect processing of said units.
Abstract: A leak detector for monitoring, in an area being investigated, the presence of a liquid having a characteristic fluorescence spectrum. The leak detector includes a radiation source, with the radiation provided to the area being investigated. The detector also includes a collector for collecting radiation, in the fluorescence emission band of the liquid being monitored, emitted from the area being investigated. The presence of this liquid is sensed by detection of a threshold level of collected radiation. The size of a stain of the liquid relative to the size of the field of view of the collector is then determined.

Abstract: A geodesic dome is created by the steps of: (a) generating a mathematical model of a geodesic dome, (b) fabricating components with which to form a geodesic dome according to the model; and (c) fastening the components to each other according to the model. In the model, M base triangles are generated in a closed three-dimensional shape. M is at, least four, with eight being preferred and the preferred closed three-dimensional shape being a regular octahedron. The closed three-dimensional shape has a center point from which each vertex of each of the base triangles is equidistant, this distance being a geodesic radius. Each leg of each base triangle is then subdivided into N segments of equal length, N being at least two, with eight being preferred, thus defining N+1 segment endpoints or intersections along each leg. A line is then generated between each intersection and two corresponding intersections, thus defining N2 smaller triangles per base triangle.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for providing circulation, usually when it has substantially decreased or ceased, such as during cardiac arrest. The method includes the steps of intubating the airway of a patient, to provide access to the lungs. The air and other material in the lungs is then evacuated. A liquid breathing solution is then infused into the lungs, expanding the lungs such that the lungs compress the heart and great vessels, to generate cardiac outflow and ultimately circulation. A device that performs this method is also disclosed.
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for controlling, regulating, altering, transforming or otherwise modulating the delivery of a substance to a delivery site. The devices, systems and methods optimize the delivery of the substance to an intended site, such as a vessel, vascular bed, organ and/or other corporeal structures, while reducing inadvertent introduction or reflux substance to other vessels, vascular beds, organs, and/or other structures, including systemic introduction.

Abstract: A method for computer memory calibration includes flashing a calibration from a processor into two flash memory sections. Either the same or an alternate processor requests data stored in one of the flash memory sections. Subsequently, exception handler logic within an exception mechanism activates and generates an exception for the data stored in the aforementioned flash memory section. The calibration in the other flash memory section then transfers to the processor through the functioning of the exception.

The guard is a hollow plastic member with a base and a sidewall curved upwardly and inwardly to form a cover which is form fitted to the infusion site under finger pressure and which can be taped in place. Improvements to this invention include holding the guard in place with a fabric connector and cushioning the guard's base with a soft material.
Abstract: A method for detecting content on a page of digital media that has a reading direction by reading image data beginning from a starting point in the reading direction of the digital media and identifying the content by analyzing differences in the image data as the image data is read. The method can include mapping a boundary of the content based on variations between content image data and surrounding background image data and generating a content map for the page using the boundary of the content, where the content map allows the page to be navigated between multiple pieces of content.
