Abstract: In response to receiving a probe request from a mobile client, an access point determines whether it should suppress a probe response. The access point receives a probe request from a wireless client device, and prepares a probe response to respond to the probe request. The access point determines whether the wireless client device is likely to associate with the wireless access point. Responsive to a determination that the wireless client device is unlikely to associate with the wireless access point, the access point suppresses the transmission of the probe response.

Abstract: A natural cheese analog is produced by coagulating a cheese-like curd from a mixture of conditioned liquid cheese whey and a dry casein material to form a substantially fat-free cheese analog. The fat-free cheese analog is comminuted; further processed by adding a selected fat, preferably in the form of vegetable oils, and adding emulsifiers and other ingredients; and then heated to a temperature in the range of 155.degree.-205.degree. F. until it forms a fluent mass which is subsequently cast into any desired shape. The resultant product is a process cheese analog having any desired flavor, texture and fat content.

Abstract: A process for more accurately delivering a hitting device to a ball, including positioning a stiff and straight leading or front leg at the start of and during the process (with no step forward of the front foot or leg) until after contact with the ball, pointing and planting the leading or front foot at least partially in the direction from which the ball is traveling, positioning the hands and the hitting device such that the distal end of the hitting device is below the shoulders and the hitting device is held substantially parallel to the ground at the start of the process, delivering the hitting device directly forward in the same plane as the ball is traveling, and utilizing pivoting of the torso and hips about an axis to deliver the hitting device to a ball with little or no forward or lateral movement of the body.
Abstract: To inject samples into a mass spectrometer, one end of a capillary tube is affixed directly to the vacuum chamber of the mass spectrometer or to a mass spectrometer interface to bring gaseous samples into close proximity to the mass spectrometer ionizing means, and the other end is in close proximity to the surface of a tape. The tape is in a cassette and a probe is inserted through the cassette frame between the cassette reels and draws the tape to the end of a capillary tube. Regions of tape with samples adsorbed to tape surface are transported rapidly from a low temperature region for a high temperature region which includes the entrance end of the capillary tube. Sample vaporizes from the tape surface and is carried into the capillary tube by a carrier gas. The tape position is indicated by bar codes on the tape that control tape movement.
Abstract: A modified drilling mud degasser is used to simultaneously degas drilling mud delivered thereto from a mud tank and to supercharge a mud pump to which the degassed mud is delivered. This is accomplished through the provision of a drilling mud degasser and supercharger comprising power driven degassing means for removing gas from drilling mud delivered thereto and pump means for delivering degassed drilling mud therefrom to said mud pump at a predetermined pump supercharging pressure, and means for recirculating drilling mud from the drilling mud degasser and supercharger to the mud tank when the mud pump is not operating.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a wireless device is configured to associate with a first access point on a first frequency. The wireless device listens for a predefined frame, which may be sent by neighboring access points or other wireless devices. When the wireless device receives a signal comprising a predefined frame, the wireless device acquires a parameter, such as signal strength, for the signal. The wireless device sends the parameter for the signal to the first access point.

Abstract: An improvement for composing and cataloging item configuration data is disclosed. One embodiment of the invention includes identifying a base item, identifying a part number for the base item, breaking the part number into sections, each section corresponding to an attribute of the base item, and determining which of the part number sections relate to configurable attributes of the base item. The embodiment further includes listing a plurality of selectable part number section values for the configurable attributes, listing descriptive information for each of the selectable part number section values, linking the descriptive information to the corresponding selectable part number section value, generating a part number formula to define the configurable sections and associate configurable sections to the corresponding list of values, and generating a description formula to define a configurable description and associate descriptive information with corresponding configurable selectable part number values.

Abstract: A controller system for a molecular sieve device controls a product gas generated by n molecular sieve beds for separating a gas from an input gas supply. A valve assembly with n states has an input receiving the input gas and n outlets. Each valve state in a first position creates an open passageway from the input of the slide valve to an outlet. Transitioning a valve from the first to a second position creates a variable amount of restriction in the flow of gas between the input and a selected outlet.

Abstract: A system and method for implementing a hierarchical policy for computer system administration which is extremely flexible in assigning policies to managed objects. Policies are defined to be rules for the values of the attributes of managed objects. Policy groups comprise the basic building blocks and they associate a set of policies with a set of managed objects. Policy groups can also be members of other policy groups and a policy group inherits the policies of its parent policy groups supporting the hierarchical specification of policy. A given policy group may have multiple parents which allows the "mix-in" of policies from the parents. Cloning and templates in conjunction with validation policies and policy groups provide standardization and a concomitant reduction in system administration complexity.
Abstract: An attachment system (601) for maintaining a passageway (603) of a tube (605) in axial alignment with a passageway (607) through a housing (609) includes a spring (611) having an exterior edge (613) and an interior area (615) passing the tube (605). The housing (609) has an exterior mating surface (404) around the passageway (607). A mating end (402) of the tube (605) abuts against the mating surface (404). A spring retainer (617) apart from mating surface (404) restrains the movement of the spring (611) away from the mating surface (404). A tubular coupler (619) in proximity to the mating end (402) restricts the movement of the mating end (402) toward the interior area (615) of the spring (605).
