Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system including a tester and a back end manufacturing system. The tester tests a resistive memory and obtains configuration data for the resistive memory. The back end manufacturing system prevents temperatures in back end processing from reducing data retention time of the configuration data in the resistive memory.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatuses, systems, and techniques that may use machine learning for generating artificial speech. The techniques include obtaining a synthetic embedding using learned embeddings associated with different speakers. At least one learned embedding may be generated using a multi-stage training of a machine learning model (MLM) with progressively increasing quality of training speech utterances. The techniques may further include using the MLM and the synthetic embedding to generate synthetic audio data.
Abstract: Process for treating dyed human keratin fibres, in which the fibres are washed with a washing composition (B) containing at least one amphoteric surfactant and at least one nonionic surfactant chosen from alkylpolyglucosides and monoglycerolated or polyglycerolated surfactants. The invention also relates to a kit for performing this process.
Abstract: Methods, computing systems and computer program products implement embodiments of the present invention that include defining multiple primitives, each of the primitives including ranking and unranking methods. Two or more of the multiple primitives are selected, and an operation is performed on the selected primitives, thereby defining a complex format. Upon an encryption processor receiving a data record including a plaintext, the complex format is applied to the plaintext, thereby generating a non-reversible token. In some embodiments, the generated token is transmitted a remote computer.

Abstract: A method for trading in a financial derivative of an underlying asset includes determining a trend predictive of a future value of the asset and a predicted variance of the future value. Responsive to the trend and the variance, a density function is calculated, which is indicative of a probability distribution of the value at a first time in the future. Based on the density function at the first time, the density function is recalculated to find the probability distribution of the value at a second time, subsequent to the first time, and a trading decision is made with regard to the derivative of the asset based on the density function.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate providing a user with interchangeable phosphor-coated shells, or envelopes, for generate different shades and intensities of white light from a single UV light source. The interchangeability of the low-cost phosphor-coated envelopes permits the use of a single light engine, which is the more expensive component of a solid state lamp. In this manner, consumers are provided with a greater number of lighting choices at low cost than can be achieved using conventional single-envelope lamps.
Abstract: A method determines values of the airflow measured in the conditioned environment during the operation of the air-conditioning system and selects, from a set of regimes predetermined for the conditioned environment, a regime of the airflow matching the measured values of the airflow. The method selects, from a set of models of the airflow predetermined for the conditioned environment, a model of airflow corresponding to the selected regime and models the airflow using the selected model. The operation of the air-conditioning system is controlled using the modeled airflow.

Abstract: A financial account is established using a mobile computing device. A digital image of an applicant's identification having text based components is captured. The digital image of the identification is processed to recognize at least a portion of the text based components. The portion of the text based components is used to complete an application for the financial account. The digital image of the identification is transmitted to a regulatory body. Verification of the identity of the applicant is received from the regulatory body. The financial account for the applicant is established.

Abstract: In some implementations, a process for communicating data over audio is performed. In one aspect, one or more ordered sequences of audio attribute values that are selected based on a musical relationship between the audio attribute values and associated with data values may be played by a first device and received by a second device. This technique may allow for sound-based communications to take place between devices that listeners may find pleasant.
Abstract: The method of the present invention provides for blasting a melt with a gaseous oxidizer in a furnace bath having a greater depth in zones of oxidative blasting and slag formation, and a lesser depth in a zone of slag separation, the bath depth in the slag separation zone equaling 0.3-0.8 of that in the blasting zone.

Abstract: A display where lights may be programmed to randomly flash is described. The randomness may be changed by changing the mode of flashing. The lights may extend along strings that are powered by a power supply that may itself be plugged into a socket that had previously served as a light socket. The display may be added to existing displays to enhance existing visual effects. The display may be submerged and the lights may remain upright because of their buoyancy.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically generating a boot sequence. A multiple virtual machine computing environment is analyzed to generate a boot sequence that is used during a recovery operation. The boot sequence may be based on applications and application types running on the virtual machines, a network configuration and network traffic, and on manual boots of virtual machines. The boot sequence prioritizes the order in which the virtual machines are booted in the recovery site.

Abstract: The method of and the apparatus for the formation of a high-speed fluid or slurry jets of a desired geometry are invented. According to the present invention a fluid or slurry jet is formed by the expelling of a compressed fluid via a slot formed by two attached plates separated by the insertion. The shape of the slot is determined by the forms of the plates and the insertion. This shape is also determined by the deformation of the plates and the insertion by the external forces applied to the plates, for example by the fasteners connecting the plates.
