Abstract: A device is for giving a continuous, smooth thrust at a chosen direction of movement by exploiting a difference of initial impulses and final impulses given to rotational sources of magnetic field. Interactions between the magnetic field of the rotational sources and electromagnetic fields generated by stationary sources cause the impulses of various magnitudes and directions. The device is for creating a thrust at any chosen direction. The device does not require any motor. The device is only powered by electricity which may be supplied from solar panels, nuclear reactor, alkaline battery, and other sources.
Abstract: A railroad car having universal coupling capability through provision of a coupling arrangement which permits connection to a standard coupler or a drawbar is disclosed. Abstract: A two cell tensiometer is described in which water level in the lower cell is maintained at a relatively constant height, and in equilibrium with the water pressure of materials that surround the tensiometer. An isolated volume of air in the lower cell changes pressure proportionately to the changing water pressure of the materials that surround the tensiometer. The air pressure is measured remotely. The tensiometer can be used in drying as well as wetting cycles above and below the water table.

Abstract: A system and method for determining a remaining useful life of an ozone converter of an aircraft are disclosed. The method comprises using flight data of the aircraft and location-based ozone exposure data to determining a cumulative ozone exposure for the ozone converter. The cumulative ozone exposure and a predetermined ozone exposure capacity of the ozone converter are used to determine a remaining useful life of the ozone converter. Based on the determined remaining useful life of the ozone converter, an indication that the ozone converter is approaching an end-of-useful-life condition is provided.
