  • Patent number: 5392391
Abstract: A high performance graphics applications controller having a core processor and a coprocessor to independently perform desired graphics functions is provided. The core processor and the coprocessor divides processing tasks to speed execution and to reduce the burden on the host CPU. A direct memory access (DMA) controller cooperates with the coprocessor to generate source and destination addresses and employs a unique set of commands to speed operation. The core processor employs a local CPU and data and address catches to locally perform desired graphics operations independently but in conjunction with the coprocessor. The present invention has particular application with smart terminals and wherever pixel oriented data is required.

  • Patent number: 8295576
Abstract: Automated medical diagnostic interpretation and report generation for a non-invasive medical diagnostic test, such as an echo cardiogram, is provided. Various dimension measurements and physiological measurements from an echo cardiogram machine are transferred automatically to a computer over an echo cardiogram machine interface. The dimensions and physiological measurements are automatically interpreted by an intelligent interpretation engine running on a computer, generating various machine evaluations. The physician can approve the machine evaluations, overrule them, or make appropriate adjustments. Upon completion of the physician's review, the physician approved interpretations become diagnostic conclusions, and the report containing the results of the physician's review is generated by the report generation engine.

  • Patent number: 7082610
Abstract: A method and apparatus for exception handling in a multi-processor environment are described. In an embodiment, a method for handling a number of exceptions within a processor in a multi-processing system includes receiving an exception within the processor, wherein each processor in the multi-processor system shares a same memory. The method also includes executing a number of instructions at an address within a common interrupt handling vector address space of the same memory. The number of instructions cause the processor to determine an identification of the processor based on a query that is internal to the processor. Additionally, the method includes modifying execution flow of the exception to execute an interrupt handler located within one of a number of different interrupt handling vector address spaces.

Abstract: A multitude of data transfer queues can have data transfer operations that are scheduled for a processing circuit to perform. Some of the data transfer queues may submit so many or such large data transfer operations that others receive little or no attention. The situation can be resolved in the data plane via a processing circuit that performs the data transfer operations in conjunction with priority evaluation operations that can assign the data transfer queues to different scheduler priority classes. A scheduler can schedule data transfer operations based on the scheduler priority classes of the data transfer queues.

  • Patent number: 11775549
Abstract: Existing systems for document processing are either based on a supervised approach using annotated tags, and these systems identify section-based data from the unstructured documents without considering the statistical variations in content, which results in highly inaccurate content extraction. The disclosure herein generally relates to document processing, and, more particularly, to method and system for document indexing and retrieval. The system provides a mechanism to correlate unique words in a document with different topics identified in the document, based on a word pattern identified from the document. The correlations are captured in a knowledge graph, and can be further used in applications such as but not limited to document retrieval.

  • Patent number: 9570041
Abstract: Reducing energy usage by a monitor includes a map manager between a monitor interface and a processor that divides a display area of a monitor into areas and stores display information in a staging area. The map manager distinguishes an active window selected by a user from the remainder inactive, unselected areas of a display, and further determines a used subset of areas within the active window distinguished from the remainder unused areas as a function of a user preference. Accordingly, the map manager drives the monitor at each of the used area active window areas with the processor display information stored in the staging area at a normal luminance specified by the processor display information, and at each of the remainder unused, inactive and unselected areas of the total display area at a reduced luminance lower than the specified normal luminance.

  • Patent number: 7325042
Abstract: The described implementations provide arrangements and procedures to manage information pulls. To request data from another program or computer is termed a “pull”. Specifically, a registration scheduling data pulls from a data feed is received from a first object. In one implementation, the data feed is specified with a Universal Resource Identifiers (URIs). A URI is a generic term for all types of names and addresses that refer to source content. The registration further indicates a second object to receive and cache the data downloads on behalf of the first object. Responsive to receiving the registration, data downloads from the data feed are provided to the second object. In one implementation, the second object customizes the data downloads to specific data format(s) and/or structures for subsequent access by the first object.
