  • Publication number: 20180167078
Abstract: A method of DAC mismatch calibration in a SAR ADC is disclosed. In one aspect, the method comprises determining a number of bits of an analog input signal (VIN), detecting if a binary code determined from the analog input signal (VIN) matches at least one trigger code, using at least one setting code to determine a calibration residue signal (V*RES) and a calibration bit (B*LSB), analyzing a least significant bit of the digital signal (COUT) and the calibration bit (B*LSB), determining an indication of a presence of DAC mismatch, and calibrating the DAC mismatch. As the determination of the calibration bit (B*LSB) requires only one additional comparison, when compared to the normal operation, the normal operation does not need to be interrupted. Therefore, the calibration can be done in the background and, as such, can be performed frequently thereby taking into account time-varying changes due to environmental effects.

Abstract: Disclosed are a novel interferon lambda variant produced through structure-based glycoengineering and a method of producing the same. The novel interferon lambda variant and the method of producing the same exhibit remarkably improved production and yield in mammalian cell lines using structural information-based glycoengineering even through conventional purification protocols, and exhibit significantly improved therapeutic properties such as stability, half-life, and fraction of functional proteins during treatment, compared to wild-type interferon lambda. • Patent number: 8155452
Abstract: A method for correlating or finding similarity between two data sets. The method can be used for correlating two images with common scene content in order to find correspondence points between the data sets. These correspondence points then can be used to find the transformation parameters which when applied to image 2 brings it into alignment with image 1. The correlation metric has been found to be invariant under image rotation and when applied to corresponding areas of a reference and target image, creates a correlation surface superior to phase and norm cross correlation with respect to the correlation peak to correlation surface ratio. The correlation metric was also found to be superior when correlating data from different sensor types such as from SAR and EO sensors. This correlation method can also be applied to data sets other than image data including signal data.

  • Patent number: 7070957
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new polypeptide and the gene coding therefore, gene being an evolutionarily conserved actin-binding protein, called STARS (striated muscle activator of Rho signalin), that is expressed specifically in cardiac and skeletal muscle cells and is upregulated in response to calcineurin signaling during cardiac hypertrophy. STARS is localized to the thin filament of the sar comere and to actin stress fibers where it promotes actin bundling. STARS stimulates the transcriptional activity of serum response factor (SRF) through a mechanism that requires actin bundling and Rho kinase activation. STARS provides a mechanism for selectively enhancing the transcriptional activity of SRF in muscle cells and for linking changes in actin dynamics to gene transcription. Also disclosed are methods of using the gene and protein in drug screening and therapy, including, for example, use of the gene in gene therapy to treat cardiovascular disease.

  • Patent number: 10048224
Abstract: A magnetic particle imaging apparatus includes magnets [106,107] that produce a gradient magnetic field having a field free region (FFR), excitation field electromagnets [102,114] that produce a radiofrequency magnetic field within the field free region, high-Q receiving coils [112] that detect a response of magnetic particles in the field free region to the excitation field. Field translation electromagnets create a homogeneous magnetic field displacing the field-free region through the field of view (FOV) allowing the imaging region to be scaled to optimize scan time, scanning power, amplifier heating, SAR, dB/dt, and/or slew rate. Efficient multi-resolution scanning techniques are also provided. Intermodulated low and radio-frequency excitation signals are processed to produce an image of a distribution of the magnetic nanoparticles within the imaging region. A single composite image is computed using deconvolution of multiple signals at different harmonics.

  • Patent number: 8510457
Abstract: A generic method is described for storing data in the HSS (2) by the S-CSCF (1) of an IMS. When a SIP message containing new information relating to an IMPI/IMPU pair is received by the S-CSCF (1), a data package is created for storage at the HSS (2), containing the new information. An SAR command is sent to the HSS (2) containing an AVP including an instruction to the HSS (2) and the new data package. In one aspect a unique data package is controlled by the S-CSCF (1). When new information relating to the IMPI/IMPU is received in a SIP message, this is added to any previously sent data package to create a new data package. In another aspect the HSS (2) controls a unique data package, returning the data package to the S-CSCF (1) to be amended if necessary. In another aspect separate data packages are used.

  • Patent number: 7843939
Abstract: The disclosure presents techniques for merging multiple data flows in a network such as a Passive Optical Network (PON). The PON comprises an interface module and network nodes connected to the interface module via an optical fiber link. Each network node further serves client devices. The client devices request multiple data flows, requiring the interface module to serve multiple data flows to a network node for delivery to the devices. The interface module merges received data flows to permit multiple flows to be processed by a single segmentation and reassembly (SAR) engine, reducing hardware cost and complexity within the node. However, subunits associated with different data flows within a merged data flow are not interleaved with one another. Instead, the subunits associated with an original unit of information are transmitted contiguously within the merged data flow, facilitating identification and reassembly of the subunits for a particular microflow.
