Abstract: The position of the same point on each of the images of a single object formed by the imaging means of an endoscope is detected, and shift maps between the respective images are formed using the detected positions. Each of the imaging positions of the imaging means is estimated from the shift maps, and a relative shape of the object is then estimated from the imaging positions. Since a relative shape of the object is estimated using the correlation between the respective images, a relative shape of the object can be estimated even when not only the imaging means but also the object are moved. An absolute shape of the object can also be estimated using a length as a reference value.

Abstract: The invention provides an ornamental film comprising a laminate structure consisting of two biaxially oriented films and a thermally fusible polyolefin layer interposed between the films, characterized in that the biaxially oriented film has a decorative layer either on a face side or on a reverse side, that the thermally fusible polyolefin layer has a thickness corresponding to 25.about.70% of the total thickness of the laminate structure, and that the bond strength between the biaxially oriented film and thermally fusible polyolefin layer has been controlled at 20.about.170 g/15 mm. This ornamental film is advantageous in that when formed with slits or cutouts and expanded three-dimensionally, it is protected against tear propagation, that it lends itself well to vapor deposition, that it can be incinerated for disposal, and that it is comparatively inexpensive.
Abstract: An antenna system comprising two similar radiation antenna elements with a single monopulse feed system is scanned while transmitting in-phase radio waves from the two elements. Reflected radio waves are received by the two elements and fed to a hybrid circuit which in turn produces a sum signal .SIGMA. and a difference signal .DELTA.. After detection is performed by a detector, a signal processing unit subtracts the difference signal .DELTA. from the sum signal .SIGMA.. In this processing step, the output signal produced by the above subtraction process is actually output only if the receiving pattern waveform associated with the sum signal .SIGMA. has an upwardly convex form, that is, its double differential coefficient is negative and further if the receiving pattern waveform associated with the difference signal .DELTA. has a downwardly convex form, that is, its double differential coefficient is positive, whereby an antenna pattern with beam compression is provided.

Abstract: A semiconductor memory device comprises a non-doped thick barrier layer formed on the semiconductor substrate, an impurity doped floating conducting layer formed on the thick barrier layer, a thin barrier layer formed on the floating conducting layer and having an asymmetric barrier whose barrier height is higher on the side of the floating conducting layer, a channel layer formed on the thin barrier layer, and a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the channel layer. A write bias voltage which makes a potential of the second electrode higher than that of the first electrode is applied so as to inject electrons from the first electrode to the floating conducting layer through the thin barrier layer, thereby writing information in the floating conducting layer. A read bias voltage lower than the write bias voltage is applied between the first and the second electrodes, and the information stored in the floating conducting layer is read based on whether or not a current flows in the channel layer.
Abstract: A toner is disclosed wherein an aminium salt infrared light absorber and a positive charge control agent are used in combination while preventing a mutual reaction therebetween. In this toner, the physical contact of the aminium salt compound with the positive charge control agent is avoided (e.g., by separately adding them to respective two separated phases of a binder resin), or alternatively use is made of such a combination of compounds as will not cause a mutual reaction (e.g., a common anion is used).
