Abstract: A near-surface defect in a nickel-base superalloy article having a nil-ductility range is weld repaired with a low-power, directional, spatially confined heat source. During the weld repair procedure, the body of the article is maintained at room temperature. Simultaneously, the surface of the article is locally melted in the region of the near-surface defect using the heat source to form a melted region, and thereafter the melted region is allowed to solidify. The heat source produces a shallow weld pool that allows the near-surface defect to be floated to the surface in the case of an inclusion, or welded closed in the case of a surface crack or near-surface void.
Abstract: A label switch router (LSR) in a label-switched path (LSP) may receive, from an ingress edge LSR, a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) echo request, where the LSP includes a tunnel having details that are hidden by a Nil Forward Equivalency Class (FEC). The LSR may determine whether the LSR is an egress node for the tunnel in the LSP based at least in part on one or more labels in the MPLS echo request. The LSR may, in response to determining that the LSR is the egress node for the tunnel in the LSP, send an MPLS echo reply that indicates the LSR as being the egress node for the tunnel in the LSP.

Abstract: A resectoscope has an elongated shaft tube, an elongated optic arranged therein with a lens at the distal end and an electrode assembly, wherein the electrode assembly in turn includes an electrode arranged at the distal end of the arms of a fork assembly, which are arranged on opposing sides of the lens and are brought together in a transition region to an electrode shaft, wherein the electrode assembly can be extended in the longitudinal direction by a stroke length from a first position, in which the electrode is arranged inside the shaft tube in front of the lens, into a second position in which the arms of the fork assembly protrude out of the shaft tube. The length of the arms of the fork assembly is thereby greater than 1.2 times the stroke length. The electrode assembly is configured correspondingly.

Abstract: The upper edge of an awning slat that is suspended obliquely in position is bifurcated into a channel-like structure running along the edge, having inwardly projecting beads on the free edges of the channel. For suspension of the slat, at various places along its length, the beaded channel is forced to spread and snap into notches behind twin barbs of a bracket. Each bracket has parallel ridges bending out from a base to meet the bifurcated grasping webs of the awning slat, the ridges of the bracket being barbed, so as to provide an oblique surface to spread the connecting webs of the awning edge apart until their beads snap into grooves between the barbs and the bracket base. The awning slat with its bifurcated edge is integrally made by extrusion of aluminum alloy and the brackets are relatively short pieces of aluminum alloy extrusions.

Abstract: An article made of a nickel-base superalloy having a nil-ductility range from the solidus temperature of the alloy to about 600.degree. F. below the solidus temperature is welded, as for example in the weld repair of surface cracks, by removing foreign matter from the area to be welded, first stress relieving the article, adjusting the temperature of the article to a welding temperature of from about 1800.degree. F. to about 2100.degree. F., welding a preselected area in an inert atmosphere at the welding temperature, and second stress relieving the article. Welding is preferably accomplished by striking an arc in the preselected area so as to locally melt the alloy in the preselected area, providing a filler metal having the same composition as the nickel-based superalloy of the article, and feeding the filler metal into the arc so that the filler metal is melted and fused with the article to form a weldment upon solidification.

Abstract: The press roll cooperates with a counter roll to form a press with a long nip for paper or board machines. The press roll has two end walls; a flexible jacket secured to the end walls; and support members for the end walls. The end walls have bearings for permitting rotation of the jacket and the end walls in relation to the support members; and a press shoe intended together with the counter roll to form a pressing zone. Attachment assemblies each have a circular clamping member, which includes a wedge body, and a circular groove disposed on the inside of the end wall to receive the edge portions of the jacket and the wedge body, the groove and wedge body being provided with cooperating wedge forming surfaces. Further, the clamping member includes bolts for pulling the wedge body into the groove and retaining it therein in order to clamp the edge portions of the jacket by means of wedge action, against the end wall.
