Abstract: A method of improving an impact-protective property of a conformable substrate is provided. The method includes positioning a central core adjacent the conformable substrate. The central core includes a plurality of rigid plates. A first of the plates is joined by at least one hinge to a second of the plates.
Abstract: The present invention provides a loudspeaker with at least two diaphragm assemblies, in which the reactive forces acting on the magnets in each assembly cancel. By linking the two magnets together via a non-rigid material, resonance in the drive assemblies is highly damped and corresponding distortion of the loudspeaker output is reduced.
Abstract: A method of patterning a conductive layer to form transparent electrical conductors that does not require etching is disclosed. The method includes peeling a strippable polymer layer from a substrate coated with the conductive layer to pattern the conductive layer. In some embodiments, a resist matrix material is patterned over the conductive layer to prevent removal of the conductive layer beneath the resist matrix material. In other embodiments, a liner having a pressure sensitive adhesive surface is brought into contact with the patterned strippable polymer material to remove both the patterned strippable polymer material and the conductive layer beneath it.

Abstract: The present invention provides a loudspeaker with a port tube having an acoustic leakage path through a motile part thereof. In this way, excess energy caused by longitudinal resonance at higher frequencies is radiated transversely through the port tube walls rather than contributing to the output of the loudspeaker itself.
Abstract: A large screen display drive mechanism. A drum is rotatably mounted to a truss by an axle that extends centrally through the drum and mounted by bearings, in turn, mounted to the truss. A large screen display is wrappable on the drum and is electrically connected by a cable assembly extending through the drum and outwardly thereof through a sprocket fixedly mounted to an end of the drum. The cable assembly is wrapped around a portion of the axle extending outwardly of the drum. A motor with sprocket and chain drives the sprocket attached to the drum.
Abstract: The invention relates to compound of the formula I or a salt thereof, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification; to its preparation, to its use as medicament and to medicaments comprising it.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for performing a computer-implemented method for tessellating patches. An input block is received that defines a plurality of input patch attributes for each patch as well as instructions for processing each input patch. A plurality of threads is launched to execute the instructions to generate each vertex of a corresponding output patch based on the input patch. Reads of values written during instruction execution are synchronized so threads can read and further process the values of other threads. An output patch is then assembled from the outputs of each of the threads; and emitting the output patch for further processing.

Abstract: A roadside equipment (RSE) system that can be used for controlling traffic signals and other equipment and corresponding method. A method includes maintaining a traffic signal in a GREEN phase in a first direction, including displaying a GREEN indicator in the first direction. The method includes detecting an event indicating that the phase of the traffic signal in the first direction should be changed and changing the phase of the traffic signal to a pre-YELLOW phase in response to the detected event, including continuing to display the GREEN indicator in the first direction. The method includes wirelessly transmitting a message indicating the pre-YELLOW phase and a phase time, the phase time indicating a next change of phase of the traffic signal, and changing the phase of the traffic signal to a YELLOW phase when the phase time has been reached.
Abstract: A method of improving an impact-protective property of a conformable substrate is provided. The method includes positioning a central core adjacent the conformable substrate. The central core includes a plurality of rigid plates. A first of the plates is joined by at least one hinge to a second of the plates.
Abstract: An article is provided that includes a core including a plurality of triangular core members. Two or more edges of each triangular core member are each attached to respective edges of other triangular core members in the plurality of triangular core members by respective hinges in a plurality of hinges. Each hinge in the plurality of hinges joins respective edges of a respective pair of substantially adjacent triangular core members in the plurality of triangular core members, is of a length to provide an offset between the pair of triangular core members, has a thickness less than thicknesses of the pair of triangular core members, and is integrally connected to the pair of triangular core members.
Abstract: A loudspeaker radiating diaphragm can be stiffened to help increase the breakup frequency to above the working frequency range of the driver concerned, by forming it of a molded part and an attached formed part. The molded part is a radiating surface with stiffening ribs. The formed part is a thin surface of high modulus material, attached to the rear of the ribs. The overall structure can have significantly higher stiffness than either of the two parts. This helps in designing a loudspeaker driver that does not breakup within its working frequency range.

Abstract: A protective guard for reducing injury to a shin of a person is provided. The protective guard includes an elastomeric substrate having a pocket disposed therein. A central core is carried by the pocket of the elastomeric substrate. The central core includes a plurality of rigid plates, a first of which is joined by at least one hinge to a second of the plates.
Abstract: A loudspeaker comprises a reflex port located within the enclosure at a point substantially co-incident with a nodal surface of at least one resonant mode within the enclosure. The amplitude of that resonance at the input to the duct is minimized, hence assisting in filtering out the effect of that resonance without needing absorptive material. Ideally, it is placed at the intersection of two or more nodal surfaces.
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method are provided for testing a battery-powered electronic device-under-test in a transport frame engaged with a test fixture. A transport frame power supply is arranged to provide power to the DUT in a pre-testing stage. A switching circuit is arranged to switch from the transport frame power supply to a test fixture power supply in response to receiving a power switching signal indicating satisfaction of a pre-testing condition. Power from the test fixture power supply can then be switched back to the first transport frame, or to a second transport frame, to begin testing a second DUT. The ability to start a DUT test without having to wait for the DUT to boot-up in the test fixture reduces test time and increases efficiency of use of test equipment.
