  • Patent number: 7170122
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a memory array and a method of constructing a memory array are provided. An insulating layer is formed on a semiconductor substrate. A first metal stack is then formed on the insulating layer. The first metal stack is etched to form first metal lines. A polymeric layer is formed over the first metal lines and the insulating layer. The polymeric layer has a surface with a plurality of roughness formations. A second metal stack is formed on the polymeric layer with an interface layer, which is thicker than the heights of the roughness formations. Then the second metal stack is etched to form second metal lines. Memory cells are formed wherever a second metal line extends over a first metal line.

  • Patent number: 7171257
Abstract: A method and system is presented for treating moving target regions in a patient's anatomy by creating radiosurgical lesions. The method includes determining a pulsating motion of a patient separately from a determining of a respiratory motion, and directing a radiosurgical beam, from a radiosurgical beam source, to a target in the patient based on the determining of the pulsating motion. Directing the radiosurgical beam to the target may include creating a lesion in the heart to inhibit atrial fibrillation. The method may further include determining the respiratory motion of the patient, and compensating for movement of the target, due to the respiratory motion and the pulsating motion of the patient, in the directing of the radiosurgical beam based on the determining of the respiratory motion and the determining of the pulsating motion.

  • Patent number: 7169620
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a method of constructing a memory array is provided. An insulating layer is formed on a semiconductor wafer. A first metal stack is then formed on the insulating layer and etched to form first metal lines. A polymeric layer is formed over the first metal lines and the insulating layer. A puddle of smoothing solvent is then allowed to stand on the wafer. The smoothing solvent is then removed. After the smoothing solvent is removed, the polymeric layer has a reduced surface roughness. A second metal stack is then formed on the polymeric layer and etched to form second metal lines.

Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and systems are described in which subdivided polygons are derived from a first polygon. Bin assignments of subdivided polygons derived from a first polygon may be stored. One or more reference coordinate points associated with coordinates of the first polygon may be stored. One or more reference coordinate points associated with the coordinates of the first polygon on a subsequent frame may be compared to the stored one or more reference coordinate points from a previous frame. The bin assignments for the corresponding subdivided polygons for the subsequent frame may be reused if the results of the comparison are within a preset threshold quantity.

  • Patent number: 7167923
Abstract: A system and method to permit efficient communication between multiple devices having different network protocols and to permit a private network device to conduct a direct PPPoE session without restricting other devices on the private network from using another IP address. In particular, a gateway device is provided that translates and routes data packets between devices of different network protocols by referring to a table of device addresses and physical port information. Advantageously, the gateway device may maintain the table dynamically. An entry is created for a device the first time it sends a packet over the network, and an entry is deleted if a device has not sent a packet for a predetermined time interval. If no entry exists corresponding to a packet's destination, the packet is sent to all devices on the network. Finally, the gateway device also identifies the ethertype of data packets and routes them accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7167728
Abstract: A portable telephone provides a graphical user interface (GUI) using a high-resolution display. The GUI provides a Universal Mailbox for storing both electronic mail and voicemail messages, either of which can be accessed by a user from the same display screen. An automatic reply feature allows a user to initiate an outgoing reply to a received message with the touch of a button. For a reply to a voicemail message, the GUI accesses Caller ID information to automatically identify and dial out to the phone number of the sender of the original message. For an electronic mail reply, the GUI automatically displays a reply form addressed to the source address. Reply forms may be generic, custom designed for a specific source address, or provided by the sender. An advanced call control feature automatically checks an outgoing telephone number against a database to determine whether the phone number is currently appropriate.

  • Patent number: 7167895
Abstract: A broadcast system, method and apparatus providing content on demand. In one embodiment, the disclosed broadcast system includes a server that broadcasts meta-data to a plurality of clients. The meta-data describes a plurality of data files that are to be broadcast or potentially broadcast later by the server. Each client receives the broadcasted meta-data from the server and updates and maintains a local meta-data table and a content rating table. Based on the meta-data, previous access habits of the user and optional user classifications, the client system selectively receives and/or stores the data files that are later broadcast by the server. In one embodiment, the client systems transmit back to the server ratings of each one of the data files described by the meta-data based on the user's previously accessed data files and optional user classifications. The server then determines the data files to be broadcast and the broadcast schedule based on the ratings received from the clients.

  • Patent number: 7168026
Abstract: One aspect of the invention provides a novel scheme to preserve the failure state of a memory location. According to one embodiment, the data is read from a memory location in a read-destructive memory device. If the data is found to be valid (uncorrupted) it is written back to the memory location from where it was read in order to preserve it. If the data is found to be invalid (corrupted) then a failure codeword is written in the memory location to indicate a failure of the memory location. The failure codeword may be preselected or dynamically calculated so that it has a mathematical distance greater than all correctable data patterns.
