  • Patent number: 7124081
Abstract: A method and apparatus for speech recognition using latent semantic adaptation is described herein. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for recognizing speech comprises using latent semantic analysis (LSA) to generate an LSA space for a collection of documents and to continually adapt the LSA space with new documents as they become available. Adaptation of the LSA space is optimally two-sided, taking into account the new words in the new documents. Alternatively, adaptation is one-sided, taking into account the new documents but discarding any new words appearing in those documents.

  • Patent number: 7124277
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a trace end predictor for a trace cache is disclosed. In one embodiment, the trace end predictor may have one or more buffers to contain a head address for a subsequent trace. The head address may include the way number and set number of the next head, along with partial stew data to support additional execution predictors. The buffers may also include tag data of the current trace's tail address, and may additionally include control bits for determining whether to replace the buffer's contents with information from another trace's tail. Reading the next head address from the trace end predictor, as opposed to reading it from the trace cache array, may reduce certain execution time delays.

  • Patent number: 7123066
Abstract: A speed-locked loop (SLL) circuit to automatically determine overall chip speed, which is a function of the combination of supply voltage, temperature, and processing parameters, and to output the speed information in digital form to speed-compensating circuits in order to significantly reduce their sensitivity to operating conditions. Through negative feedback, a digitally controlled ring oscillator (DCO) is forced to lock at an oscillation frequency close to that specified by a six-bit speed constant input. A three-bit control bus varies the DCO oscillation frequency under digital control until the SLL achieves lock. When the SLL has achieved lock it latches the DCO control bus and outputs it as the speed information. The speed constant input may be varied under software control in order to determine the speed constant value that optimizes performance of speed-compensating circuits under SLL control.

  • Patent number: 7123134
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for providing strobe effects for a wheel lighting system or wheel illuminating system. For one embodiment, a strobe device for a wheel lighting system includes a tachometer to determine a rotational frequency of a wheel, and a strobing element capable of operating in a first mode and a second mode. When operating in the first mode, the strobing frequency is related to the rotational frequency of the wheel. When operating in the second mode the strobing frequency is independent of the rotational frequency of the wheel. For one embodiment, the lighting elements, tachometer, and other components of the system are implemented completely within the rotating reference frame of the wheel. One embodiment of the invention provides a wheel illumination system having one or more strobing light source assemblies positioned within a rotating reference frame of the wheel to provide stroboscopic effects for the wheel's street side surfaces.
