Abstract: Radio frequency (RF) acoustic wave resonator (AWR) filter circuits and methods. Embodiments essentially de-couple the stopband or notch characteristics of an RF filter from the passband characteristics. Accordingly, the de-coupled parameters can be individually designed to meet the specifications of a particular application. Partially-hybridized or fully-hybridized series-arm and parallel-arm AWR filter building blocks enable “de-coupled” RF filters having (1) wideband and low insertion loss passbands and (2) wideband deep notches (stopbands) with a specifically placed notch center frequency, without compromising the passband characteristics. The AWR filter building blocks include an inductance L that matches (resonates with) the electrostatic capacitance CO of the corresponding AWR within a desired passband.

Abstract: A gate valve controls fluid communication from an inlet to an outlet relative to a reference pressure. A body defines a passage disposed in communication with the inlet, and an outlet port disposed in the passage communicates the passage with the outlet. A piston disposed in the passage is movable therein between first and second positions relative to the outlet port. The piston is movable in a first direction from the first position to the second position in response to an inlet pressure at the inlet. A gate disposed on the piston is biased transversely toward the outlet port. The gate moved by the piston adjusts flow from the passage to the outlet port. A pressure compensator disposed opposite the piston biases the piston in a second opposite direction from the second position to the first position. The pressure compensator has a chamber in communication with the reference pressure.

Abstract: Methods and systems implement a dry-heat sterilizer configured to operate at temperatures permissive of a heat-intolerant articles and heat-intolerant packaging. To effectively and evenly transmit heat throughout a dry-heat sterilizer at such temperatures, the dry-heat sterilizer furthermore provides an electronic controller coupled to multiple sensor-heating element configurations, the electronic controller configured to compute proportional-integral-derivative (PID) terms to operate a multi-loop heat control cycle including at least a first feedback loop and a second feedback loop, and configured as an asymptotic PID controller for at least one feedback loop. In this fashion, the likelihood that spot airflow temperature at particular temperature sensors will overshoot a PID setpoint is substantially reduced. This results in spot airflow temperature at the temperature sensors being sustained at the PID setpoint asymptotically, substantially improving precision of heat control cycles.
