Abstract: A hypervisor boots all guest operating systems needed to setup/update server components as detected by an update utility. The update utility, after detecting server components, is booted into each guest O.S. so that the components are updated in parallel without having to sequentially boot the utility into a guest O.S., update its component, then shut down and re-boot into another guest O.S.

Abstract: A dual-purpose device that can be used to both carry a pair of skis and be used to lock skis. The device has a main line with looped ends, and a second line attached to a midsection of the main line having one exterior looped end. One of the looped ends of the main line is slipped over a pair of skis behind a foot support, and second line is wrapped about the skis and the other looped end of the main line is passed through the second line exterior loop, and can be draped over a shoulder of a user and held by a user's hand like a handle. Moving the handle raises and lowers the position of the skis. The skis are supported in a vertical position behind and separated from the user's back where the main line further acts as a cushion between the user's back and the skis. An adjustably positioned shoulder pad can be used to further cushion the main line from the user's shoulder.
Abstract: A method, including selecting a first maximum radiofrequency (RF) power to be delivered by an electrode within a range of 70 W-100 W, and selecting a second maximum RF power to be delivered by the electrode within a range of 20 W-60 W. The method also includes selecting an allowable force on the electrode within a range of 5 g-50 g, selecting a maximum allowable temperature, of tissue to be ablated, within a range of 55° C.-65° C., and selecting an irrigation rate for providing irrigation fluid to the electrode within a range of 8-45 ml/min. The method further includes performing an ablation of tissue using the selected values by initially using the first power, switching to the second power after a predefined time between 3 s and 6 s, and terminating the ablation after a total time for the ablation between 10 s and 20 s.

Abstract: A digital computer system in which data operands are represented by names. Each procedure includes a name table, and means are provided to employ the name table to resolve the names into storage addresses at run time. The system also has the ability to run any of a plurality of S-Languages (an S-Language being conceptually similar to a machine language but of higher order); each S-Language can be optimally tailored to a high-order user language. Each procedure includes a dialect code which indicates the dialect of S-Language to which the instructions in the current procedure belong, and the system has provision to execute each procedure accordingly.

Abstract: A hybrid velocity model is used to image the subsalt reflector. A method for imaging subsalt reflectors includes receiving seismic data and depth migrating the raw data. Generated seismic P-waves are assigned a first P-wave velocity for travel outside a salt wedge. Prior to entering the salt wedge, the wave is treated as a compressional wave. Upon entering the salt wedge, the P-wave is treated as a converted S-wave and a corresponding S-wave velocity is assigned to the converted wave. When the converted S-wave exits the salt wedge, it is again converted, this time back to a P-wave. As this wave travels through the subsalt layer to a reflector interface, it is assigned a P-wave velocity. Thus, a velocity model which includes both P-wave and S-wave velocities is used to image reflectors below salt wedges.

Abstract: In updating a synopsis table of a database system, a database management unit performs a transaction to insert row(s) in a section of the base table and determines whether a synopsis entry for the section is stored in the memory. If stored in the memory, the in-memory synopsis entry is retrieved and metadata values in the in-memory synopsis entry are updated with data from the row(s) to be inserted. If not stored in the memory, the in-memory synopsis entry is generated and the metadata values in the in-memory synopsis entry are updated with data from the row(s). The insert transaction is then committed. Synopsis entry on-disk updates are thus avoided, significantly reducing the cost of updating the synopsis entries from the insert transaction. This yields enhanced performance especially for inserts of a small number of rows, while the benefits of synopsis entries are still available.
