  • Patent number: 5146583
Abstract: An apparatus and method for translating a function description of a circuit presented in hardware description language includes parsing the function description of the circuit to generate a parse tree. The structure of the parse tree is deformed to optimize the test level redundancy of the function description to thereby generate a deformed parse tree. The deformed parse tree is then translated into function blocks representing a hardware configuration of the circuit set forth by the function description.

  • Publication number: 20170170871
Abstract: A system and method to produce an electric network from estimated line impedance and physical line length among smart meter devices is provided using communication between the smart meters. The smart meters: (1) synchronize time using GPS pps signals, which provide an accurate time stamp; (2) send/receive an identifiable signal through the same phase of electric networks; (3) identify other smart meters on the same phase lines by listening to the information signal on the same phase lines; and (4) calculate time-of-arrival of an identifiable signal from other smart meters. The time of arrival information is used to calculate the line length, which is then used to calculate impedance of a line and topology of the electric network. The system then constructs an electric network by combining geo-spatial information and tree-like usual connection information.

  • Patent number: 7241043
Abstract: The trunks and/or branches of a decoration tree are made of “metal mesh/insulation/metal mesh” sandwiched structure. Ornamental articles are configured to be easily and rapidly inserted into the sandwiched structure to decorate the decoration tree. The two metal meshes are each coupled to one of the two electrodes of an electric power supply. The coaxial pin of each ornamental article is made coaxial to couple to the two metal meshes respectively, so that the ornamental article shines when it has been inserted in the trunks or branches of the tree.

  • Publication number: 20140052301
Abstract: A power flow problem (OPF) in an electric power network is globally optimized using a branch and bound tree of nodes connected by edges. The BB initially includes at least a root node, and each node represents a feasible region of limits on voltages and powers. An upper bound on the OPF problem is solved for selected nodes using nonlinear programming, while a lower bound is solved using a convex relaxation. The lowest upper and lower bounds are updated using the current upper and lower bound. If a difference between the lowest upper and lowest lower bound is less than a threshold, then outputting the voltages and the powers for the electric power network as represented by the feasibility region for the selected node. Otherwise, the feasible region of the node is partitioned to replace the node. The process is repeated until the tree is empty.

Abstract: To identify an image characteristic, a tree structured code having coding representing each of a plurality of training images is stored in a memory. Coding representing a sample image, not included in the plurality of training images, is compared to the tree structured code to identify the training image coding in the structured tree code closest to the sample image coding. A characteristic of the sample image is identified based upon the training image represented by the closest training image coding.
