  • Patent number: 5481526
Abstract: An optical pickup emits a light beam onto a recording medium and outputs, in response to a reflection from the medium, a first and a second signal for controlling focusing servo control and tracking servo control, respectively. A signal generating section generates a focus error signal and a tracking error signal in response to the first and second signals, respectively. A driving section is responsive to the output of the signal generating section for outputting a first and a second drive current assigned to focusing and tracking, respectively. An actuator moves the pickup in a focusing direction and a tracking direction by the first and second drive currents, respectively. An adjusting section detects two values close to the maximum and minimum values of the tracking error signal at the start of the focusing servo control and adjusts the gain of the second signal on the basis of a difference between the detected values.

Abstract: In a network management system, information items respectively of connection relationships, containment relationships, and display priority of a plurality of managed object instances (resources) are stored in a memory. According to a predetermined algorithm, there is calculated an evaluated value for display for each of the instances depending on the containment relationship information and display priority to select a limited number of instances representable on a screen. Displayed on the screen is a network layout diagram including icons representing the plural instances thus selected. When the user specifies one of the icons, the specified instance and a number of representable instances selected according to the evaluated values from a group of instances under the specified instance in the containment relationships are displayed in a new network layout diagram on the screen.

  • Patent number: 5414825
Abstract: In a one-chip microcomputer, an electrically programmable read only memory (EPROM) is formed together with a read-only memory (ROM) and random access memory (RAM) on one semiconductor substrate. Data such as fixed data necessary in the microcomputer can be changed by the use of the EPROM. In case data are to be written in the EPROM, an EPROM writer is used. This EPROM writer outputs write data to the EPROM and checks (or verifies) the data written in the EPROM immediately thereafter. If any error is detected, a subsequent data write is interrupted. In order to inhibit the unnecessary operation interruption in case the address designated by the EPROM writer comes out of the range of the EPROM, a checking (or verifying) data signal to be fed from the one-chip microcomputer to the EPROM writer is forcibly set at a level which indicates satisfactory operation of the EPROM.
