Abstract: Methods and systems are described for controlling parameters in a building. According to at least one embodiment, a method for controlling parameters in a building includes using a first sensor type to determine whether the building is occupied and using a second sensor type to determine how reliable the first sensor type determines occupancy.
Abstract: A method for voice control component installation is described. In one embodiment, a speech recognizable input spoken by an installer is identified, the speech recognizable input relating to installation of a system component. The system component is in communication with a control panel. An installation task for the system component is performed according to the speech recognizable input.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for announcing reminders and alerts is described. In one embodiment, appointments of an electronic calendar are monitored via a processor of a home automation system. A trigger of an upcoming appointment is detected. Information regarding the upcoming appointment is announced via a speaker of the home automation system.
Abstract: A method for detecting occupancy of a building is described. In one embodiment, the method includes using a microphone to monitor for sounds at a building, detecting a sound via the microphone, and determining whether the sound is made by a human or made by an animal. In some cases, the microphone is a glass break sensor microphone.
Abstract: A method for security and/or automation systems is described. In one embodiment, the method may include receiving occupancy data, identifying characteristics of the occupancy data, determining an occupant's location relative to the premises at a predetermined time, and generating a notification based at least in part on the determining.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for setting up a security and/or automation system. According to at least one embodiment, a method for setting up the security or automation system includes receiving a communication from a mobile device associated with installing a system peripheral device at a control unit and executing an installation task based on the communication.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for enabling secure delivery of a package to a designated delivery area of a premises is described. In one embodiment, information regarding a delivery of a package to a premises may be received, a delivery person arriving at the premises may be detected, and instructions may be provided to the delivery person regarding how to deliver the package to the designated delivery area within the premises.
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and techniques for security and/or automation systems are described. In one embodiment, the method including identifying a presence of a first person at a first location, capturing a first video related to the first person at the first location, and initiating an adjustment of a display of the first video based at least in part on identifying the presence of the first person.
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for tracking location using a home automation system. One method includes receiving sensor data indicating presence of a wearable tracking device in a predetermined area of a property monitored by the home automation system, confirming an identity of the tracking device, and generating a notice indicating a location of the tracking device.
