    Abstract: A device which facilitates the speed loading of shells into a shotgun and which is accurately alignable with the magazine of the shotgun for readily repeatable operation. Such device comprises a mechanism for providing a location position relative to the magazine, and an elongated tube, adapted to contain a plurality of shells in end to end relation. The tube includes an opening defined in one end thereof through which such shells are inserted into and removed from said tube. At least one projection is provided in the tube for releaseably retaining such shells within said tube. Additionally, an external means is provided for engaging the location mechanism so as to accurately register the open end of the tube at the location position, and a plunger located within the tube rapidly expells such shells from the tube past the projection into the magazine when the tube is registered in its location position relative to the magazine.

    Abstract: An exemplary query parsing system accesses user input text representative of a search query. The system generates a plurality of candidate parses of the user input text. Each of the plurality of candidate parses includes a candidate what portion and a candidate where portion determined from the user input text. The system generates a score for each candidate parse in the plurality of candidate parses based on whether one or more of a plurality of predefined parsing features are found in the respective candidate parse and on a machine learning mode. The system selects, from the plurality of candidate parses based on the scores for the plurality of candidate parses, the candidate what portion and the candidate where portion of a particular candidate parse included in the plurality of candidate parses as search parameters for the search query. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

    Abstract: An upright rearwardly inclined game-piece receiving panel is carried by a panel receiving socket in a base and is movable to a vertical position by a biasing spring acting on the socket. Game-pieces applied to the panel are ejected therefrom upon the expiration of a predetermined period of time when a timer mechanism also carried by the base member releases a latch mechanism holding the socket inclined against the bias of the spring. The panel is preferably shaped like a human head. The game-pieces preferably resemble facial features and have bases shaped complementary to recesses formed in the panel at appropriate locations and are selected by the player as a component of a face by reference to a design on a card. The game is won by first selecting the appropriate game pieces and applying them to the panel to produce the prescribed composite design and then manually stopping the timer mechanism before it causes the game-pieces to be ejected from the panel.

    Abstract: A first network device can implement functionality to establish a proximity-based wireless connection with a second network device. It can be determined whether the second network device is within a threshold detection distance from the first network device based on a signal strength associated with RF signals received from the second network device or based on detecting RF saturation at the first network device. Device credentials associated with the first network device can be transmitted to the second network device at a reduced transmit power level in response to determining that the second network device is within the threshold detection distance from the first network device. A communication link can be established between the first network device and the second network device based, at least in part, on the device credentials associated with the first network device and device credentials received from the second network device.

    Abstract: A cautery hook includes a proximal portion, a shank portion, and a distal hook portion. The shank portion is connected to the proximal portion at a bent knee protruding generally on a front side of the cautery hook. The distal hook portion is connected to the shank portion at an ankle protruding generally on a rear side of the cautery hook opposite from the front side of the cautery hook. The distal hook portion includes a distal hook tip generally on the front side of the cautery hook. The bent knee, ankle, and distal hook tip are the three most likely locations of contact between the cautery hook and a cannula sleeve when the cautery hook is passed through the cannular sleeve between an internal surgical site and the outside. Each contact tends to self-align the cautery hook to allow the hook to pass through the cannula sleeve without getting stuck or damaged.

    Abstract: An analog signal gain circuit includes an input receiving an analog input signal defined by an ac signal component due to a driving force and a dc offset component independent of the driving force and an output providing an analog output signal defined by an amplified representation of the analog input signal and a dc offset component corresponding to a reference signal. A digital/analog feedback circuit includes a comparator having the reference signal as a switching threshold connected to an up/down counter having a number of digital outputs. The outputs of the up/down counter are connected to a D/A converter which converts the digital count to an analog feedback signal. The feedback signal is provided to the input of the analog signal gain circuit to minimize variations in the dc offset signal component of the analog output signal by compensating for the dc offset signal component of the analog input signal.

    Abstract: A self supporting filter plate assembly having two opposed screen sections with inwardly shaped deformations which engage each other to maintain a planar surface of the screen sections at a predetermined spacing. The screen sections releasably engage each other. Inwardly directed retaining pins of an exterior frame removably support the screen sections in place within the frame. Each of the screen sections include edges which are bent at 90.degree. with respect to a central planar portion of each screen. The edge portions of the two screen sections interengage with each other by a projection in an inner surface of an edge portion of one screen section engaging with a recess extending from an outer surface of an edge portion of the other screen section. In addition, spaced openings in the edge portions, on opposed side edges of both screen sections, interengage with the inwardly directed retaining pins extending from an inner surface of opposed sides of the frame.
