    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of recording a video data stream, the method comprising: receiving a video data stream from a camera device; monitoring for an input from a user; in response to receipt of a first input from a user, commencing storage of the received video data stream in a data storage device; in response to receipt of a second input from a user, halting storage of the received video data stream in the data storage device; in response to receipt of a third input from a user, halting storage of the received video data stream in the data storage device, deleting data stored in the data storage device since the last commencement of storage of the video data stream, and commencing further storage of the received video data stream in a data storage device. The present invention further relates to a video recording system for carrying out the aforementioned method.
