Abstract: A system and method for recommending and installing scheduled delivery (SD) print applications is disclosed. In one example, one or more SD print applications are determined based on prior usage of SD print applications in a printer application store by a user of a web connected computing device. Further, the determined one or more SD print applications are recommended by sending a notification to the web connected computing device and then to a web connected printer via an electronic messaging service.

Abstract: In an example implementation, a processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to receive at a print service, a print user interface (UI) request that identifies a web-enabled printer and a print access device, generate a native print UI document that includes print applications registered to the web-enabled printer, convert the native print UI document into a customized print UI document formatted in a UI description language supported by the print access device, and send the customized print UI document from the print service to the print access device.

Abstract: According to one example, there is provided a method of controlling a printing system. The method comprises: obtaining a print job to print on a substrate; obtaining a value of a factor material to an undesirable condition occurring; determining a quantity of printing fluid to be deposited on a substrate when printing a portion of the print job; determining, based on the obtained value and the determined quantity of printing fluid to be deposited, whether the undesirable condition is likely to occur whilst printing the portion of the print job; and temporarily reducing the throughput of the printing system whilst printing the portion of the print job where it is determined that the undesirable condition is likely to occur whilst printing the portion of the print job.

Abstract: A computing system including a printer capable of retaining print jobs, a first computer and a second computer. The first computer is capable of transmitting a print job to the printer that causes the printer to retain the job. Abstract: A single network appliance combines thin print server functionality with the functionality of network printer administration. The simple rack-mountable appliance has pre-installed software and acts as both a print server and print administrator on a network. The appliance performs as a typical thin print server, such as the Hewlett Packard JetDirect 4000 Print Appliance, and is accessed and managed from any remote computer running a web browser. As a thin print server, the appliance offers typical print spooling and queue functions. Using the single appliance as a print server instead of using a dedicated general purpose server or workstation, reduces the work load on system resources and increases printing performance on a network. In addition to providing thin print server functionality, the single appliance provides printer administration capabilities typically furnished by a general purpose network server installed with print administration software.

In one aspect, a print job is divided into multiple partitions. The multiple partitions are at least as numerous as the number of RIP engines in the pipeline. A respective partition is distributed to each of the multiple print engines for processing into raster data. The raster data is printable by a printing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for utilizing a temporary firmware update for a printing device. A user of a shared printing device who desires to utilize a different version of printing device firmware than presently resides in the printing device submits temporary firmware with a print job. The temporary firmware is loaded into the printing device prior to the printing device processing the print job. When the print job is complete, the newly installed temporary firmware is deleted from the printing device and control is restored to the original firmware.

The method of failure detection depends on the type of failure. For a loss of power, the data storage device is examined for the electronic data. If electronic data is found, communication is established with the e-mail server and the electronic data is transmitted to the e-mail server. The data storage device must be a non-volatile data storage device to recover from a loss of power error. For a loss of communication with the server or failure to establish communication with the server, communication is established with the e-mail server and the electronic data is transmitted to the e-mail server.
