  • Patent number: 7698555
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for enabling secure access to a desired end-point server program of at least one end-point server program. The system includes a server having a security server program and the end-point server programs, and a client. During operation, the server establishes a first connection with the client via a known port, causes an end-point program applet and web page associated with the desired end-point server program to be forwarded to the client. While executing the security server program, the server: verifies client access rights via a first encryption means, generates, encrypts and transmits to the client a random port number and a session key, and detects establishment of a second connection between the client and a random port of the server. The second connection enables secure access by the client to the desired end-point server program using a second encryption means and the session key.

  • Patent number: 9393765
Abstract: A miter clamp is provided which includes a paddle with a non-slip surface that can be placed on a miter-cut piece of material. The paddle is connected to a channel structure that has disposed therein a shaft assembly, which has connected to it a lower material holding structure that holds a second miter-cut piece of material. The shaft assembly is locked into place by a position lock that is attached to the paddle, with a position lock tab that contacts the shaft assembly and restricts movement of the shaft assembly. The relative position of the shaft assembly to the paddle can be changed such that the first and second miter-cut pieces can be brought in contact with each other. Other structures allowing for the fine movement of the shaft assembly are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5170362
Abstract: A redundant interactive subject evaluation system composed of multiple, distinct test sites containing multiple test stations, nodes which interconnect several test sites and a single integrating evaluating hub into which flows all site and node data. The system is operable to receive dial-in telecommunications data from any remote test site location including transportation vehicles in transit by air, water, or land. System reliability is high with continued node and test site activity even during overall system outages. The performance evaluation test runs on the test stations at the individual sites interactively evaluating the performance capabilities of multiple subjects by comparing the test subjects' hub data stored as historical performance characteristics with their new test results secured at the test stations.

  • Patent number: 5384837
Abstract: A line switch control circuit for a telephone subset comprising a line switch (2), a hook switch mode detector (TR4), a voltage sensing circuit (TR5) having at least two inputs (D and F), and a dialler chip (3) having a CMOS push-pull pulse output (DP). The circuit ensures that when the subset is in the on-hook mode, on the one hand, an appropriate level of current is drawn from the exchange line (L1, L2) to energise the dialler chip (3), and on the other hand, the line switch (2) remains non-conducting during on-hook mode.In the off-hook mode, the circuit renders the line switch non-conducting during breaks in dialling signals as well as during flashes by diverting current from the line switch into the pulse output (D) of the dialler chip.

  • Patent number: 5103408
Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing individuals to determine their capability of conducting predetermined tasks. A base line is generated which is unique to each individual to whom the test is to be presented. The individual's current response to the battery of tests is compared by using an algorithm with the individual's base line to determine impairment of the individual. The algorithm is statistically designed to pass individuals relative to their base line performance level while eliminating all false negatives. When an individual tests positive, the test is repeated one or more times and the results compared using an algorithm which is statistically designed to pass individuals relative to their individual base line performance levels while eliminating all false positives. Such is accomplished by providing a source of images randomly and non-repetitively to a screen for recognition and response by the individual being tested.

  • Patent number: 4873515
Abstract: A line-filtering antialiasing apparatus for a computer graphics display, with a set of parallel pixel processors functioning independently in a line drawing system and with plotting apparatus assigning individual pixels to the processors so as to track to the line. An optimum number of sixteen processors filter proximity data based on the vertical distance from a pixel center to the line center for shading pixels to gray-scale intensity in an area of influence four pixels wide. Line terminations are extended and shaded at the termination area. Pixel values for individual lines are summed to develop a total display image.

  • Patent number: 5042639
Abstract: An apparatus for handling a plurality of lids or other thin objects having two discrete sides, such as a top and bottom, for delivering then in a common orientation includes a conveyor for carrying the lids along the apparatus from an inlet end to a discharge end and an air jet nozzle which directs compressed air to engage at least some of the lids to shift them to an opposing angle of inclination. The conveyor includes orienting belts which are directed over rollers and pulleys whereby the lids, after at least some have been shifted, are returned to a substantially horizontal position when delivered at the discharge end. Two sets of orienting bells are supported by the rollers and pulleys to effect a V-shaped support adjacent the air jet nozzle so that the lids are supported in either alternate opposing angle of repose. The air jet nozzle may alternatively operate continuously or be actuatable by an electric eye whereby discrete jets of air may be directed toward the lip of a lid to thereby orient it.

  • Patent number: 5497975
Abstract: A solenoid valve for use in controlling the flow of pneumatic fluid under pressure between a pair of flow ports defined by a housing. The flow of fluid is controlled by a spool disposed within a bore and is movable between first and second positions. When in one of the first and second positions, the spool blocks communication between the ports and when in the other of those positions it allows communication between the flow ports. The spool is reciprocated by a motor means which includes a core of magnetic material connected to the spool so that when the motor is energized, the spool is placed in one of its first and second positions and when the motor is de-energized, a spring moves the spool to the other of its positions.
