Abstract: A system receives a first alert pertaining to a main part from a managed information handling system, determines whether an alternative part is available at the managed information handling system as a substitute for the main part, and determines a life expectancy of the alternative part. The system may also determine whether an expected level of service can be expected to be provided by the alternative part based on the life expectancy of the alternative part, select between a plurality of levels of criticality to apply to the first alert, and dispatch the first alert for resolution at a selected level of criticality.

Abstract: A method of using an information handling system can include sending configuration information over a network while the information handling system is running within a bare metal state. The method can also include receiving an update for a component while the information handling system is operating within the bare metal state, wherein the update corresponds to the configuration information and is received from a remote source via a network. The method can be performed automatically by an information handling system when executing machine readable code including instructions that allow a processor to carry out the method.

Abstract: A method for generating bill of material data for complex systems comprising storing a plurality of electronic documents in a standardized format using an electronic data storage device, where each electronic document has an associated solution identifier data field and one or more associated bill of materials data fields. Receiving a query request over a data network in an electronic data format that includes a query solution identifier data field. Extracting electronic data documents having a matching data field value to the solution identifier data field. Extracting the bill of materials data fields for each electronic document using data processing equipment. Assembling a compilation of the bill of materials data fields from each of the extracted electronic data documents.

Abstract: A method for securing data in a data cluster is performed by a data manager of a data cluster. The method includes receiving, by a data cluster, a write request for a user to write data to the data cluster, wherein the write request comprises an object identifier (OID) associated with data and a user identifier (UID) associated with the user; sending, to a key manager, an intermediate key request, wherein the intermediate key request comprises the UID; receiving, by the data cluster from the key manager, an intermediate key; processing the data to obtain a plurality of chunks and metadata associated with the plurality of chunks; generating an encryption key using the intermediate key and the OID; encrypting the metadata using the encryption key to generate encrypted metadata; deleting, after generating the encrypted metadata, the encryption key; and storing the encrypted metadata and the plurality of chunks in the data cluster.
