Abstract: A node for a distributed system includes computing resources and a node manager. The node manager identifies a failure of a second node of the distributed system; in response to identifying the failure: makes a first determination that the second node is a primary node of the distributed system; after making the first determination: identifies a new primary node by accessing a distributed system configuration stored in a primary share out-of-band management entity; and provides services of the distributed system to a client using the computing resources after identifying the new primary node.

Abstract: A method for managing data includes obtaining, by a management module, a redeployment request, wherein the redeployment request specifies a first workload and workload specifications for a second workload, and in response to the redeployment request: identifying, using a resource allocation master list, a plurality of resource devices, wherein each resource device in the plurality of resource devices is in an available status, selecting, from the plurality of resource devices, a first resource device based on the workload specifications, initiating a configuration of the first resource device, and updating the resource allocation master list to specify an allocation of the first resource device to the second workload.

Abstract: A method that is performed to access data nodes of a data cluster. The method includes obtaining, by a data access gateway (DAG), a first request from a host; and in response to the first request, obtaining first bidding counters from the data nodes; identifying, based on the first bidding counters, a first data node of the data nodes associated with a highest bidding counter of the first bidding counters; sending the first request to the first data node; and making a first determination that the first data node is able to service the first request.

Abstract: A composable infrastructure update system includes a composable infrastructure management system coupled to a composable infrastructure system including composable infrastructure components. The composable infrastructure management system identifies workload solutions that are being provided by at least one of the composable infrastructure components and, for each workload solution, generates a respective workload solution catalog that identifies the at least one of the composable infrastructure components that are providing that workload solution. The composable infrastructure management system then receive a software update for a first composable infrastructure component, determines that the first composable infrastructure component is being used to provide at least two of the workload solutions, and schedules the performance of the software update for the first composable component in consideration of the at least two of the workload solutions.

Abstract: This application includes a method that is performed store data. The method includes obtaining, by a data processor, a first request from a host; and in response to the first request: obtaining first cluster bidding counters (CBCs) from data clusters; identifying a first data cluster of the data clusters to service the request based on the first CBCs and data access gateway (DAG) metadata; sending the first request to the first data cluster; making a first determination that the first data cluster is unable to service the request; and in response to the first determination: identifying a second data cluster of the data clusters to service the request based on the first CBCs and the DAG metadata; and sending the first request to the second data cluster.

Abstract: A networked system may include an HCI component expansion/replacement system that is coupled to an HCI system and that periodically updates an HCI system solution database to identify a validated components for an HCI system platform that includes the HCI system, and validated software for each of the validated components. When the HCI component expansion/replacement system receives a request for a new component type to be provided in the HCI system, existing component information about a plurality of existing components that are included in the HCI system is retrieved and used to identify a first validated component that is identified in the HCI system solution database for the HCI system platform that includes the HCI system. The HCI component expansion/replacement system then provides the first validated software that is identified in the HCI system solution database for the first validated component to the HCI system.
